getting a sense of deja vu... new month, new update folks.

so. life updates first because they may or may not be relevant.
1) if you don't follow me on tumblr: in march of last year, i moved to philadelphia. next month, it'll have been a year, and my lease will end, so i will be moving again, across the country, likely to california.
i had a prospective roommate (wife's close relative) who wanted to split rent for an apartment in arizona, but abruptly told me halfway through last month that she didn't feel financially ready to move out, and would feel too guilty letting me solely handle the expenses, which i respect, however frustrating that is.
THEREFORE, all of the plans i had been preparing for during the latter half of 2017 have rather suddenly evaporated. i have, at this point, made an executive decision to pursue being a solo leaseholder, because that is something financially feasible for me now.
while i've looked for and secured apartments myself before, i've never done so for an apartment across that country without an acquaintance to at least view it for me and vouch, and i was never even intending to do much searching, because that was going to be my roommate's job. i'm positive it's possible, but i'm unsure how detrimental it's going to be to the speed and ease of the process of apartment searching.
all to say, i am going to do my best to balance my schedule with the process, but my priority is on having a secured place to stay before the start of march, ideally before halfway february, because i am also aware that the middle of any month is a dead zone for listings, and winter isn't a great season to be apartment searching in the first place.
however it goes, if i miss any expected update deadlines this month, don't be surprised. this will, hopefully, be the last time i move for a few years, due to the independence of the process this time.

2) in march, i will also be very busy packing, sorting out moving costs, physically driving cross-country, etc. so it might be a rough couple of months. this is a reminder that borderline is planned to start in april, after i've squared everything away at the new place.
i'm unsure what update schedule i'll be going with for the double update stretch goal when that starts, side comics vs. full color comics, but i'll likely have that figured out in march, as i'm going to start the process of drawing a page buffer this month and i'll see how long a full borderline page takes to make on average.

3) i'd also like to give a heads up in advance that i may be removing the $25 tier from the rewards altogether after i move.
i'm on the fence about it, but i would like to focus on a specific career path in storytelling, and, if i have time for freelancing, have more control over the subject matter and exact schedule i take commissions, probably with a discount for patrons or something tacked on.
unspent commission credits would still be valid for 1 year after deletion of the tier, but i won't be handing out any more of them.
this would likely happen sometime in the june area of time if it is going to happen at all, but i will obviously make sure to give notice the month beforehand as well. patrons in this tier will have absolutely no obligation to keep their pledges at $25, or to stay on the tier until then.

this has been a lot, but that's everything. poll will be up shortly, and thank you for your patience and support.
