this took longer than i expected, buuuuttttt... glad i didn't put it off longer and didn't give up at the backgrounds and phone it in. some simple backgrounds can really make otherwise simple visuals a lot more lively.
the more i work on this side comic the funnier i find the coincidence of izzi accidentally roasting about her friend just because it happens to me with alarming frequency, it's like surreal humor to me.

I'm re-reading and izzi being pissed at her manager for. idk how to word it... not using their position of power & being avoidant and non-confrontational over an abuse case she reported? Is so real. unfortunate timing for felix tho. I love ur comics

2021-07-10 16:49:21 +0000 UTCinteresting how felix's eyes change over time. they start off as red + orange, then change to red + green after liondad hits the kid. they were red+green+orange when lionkid asked if they were a boy or a girl, and for most of the current scene with izzi. i have some tentative ideas about what this could mean... red+orange is "customer service mode", green+red is "defense mode", and "red+orange+green" is... emotional transitions+uncertainty? maybe the eyes correlate with alter switches. on the prev page they were full red in one panel and then red w a green spot, dunno how that fits into my current theory. i wonder where future pages will take us.
