Added 2019-04-19 06:00:34 +0000 UTCthere's not a lot of interest happening in the shot composition or dialog of this page... it just establishes how check-in works, and sets up a scene transition idea i had to avoid walking the audience through another expository scene just to establish what the CBT group therapy looks like before another plot beat.
... it also hits a note i mentioned planning on hitting for a while, which is the kimmy thing. sometimes i worry that i'm just totally bullshitting this and deluding myself into believing i'd planned it all out when i hadn't, for some reason, but little moments where i follow through on setup i said i would get back to months prior reassures me i might know what i'm doing.
the simpler shading and the smaller panel count (i frequently go over the soft maximum i asked my wife to establish for my sake... for whatever reason) combined made this page jarringly manageable compared to most weeks.
i was done at about 3 PM after getting groceries, where i'm usually fighting the clock and working until 10 or 11 PM if not midnight, even if i worked diligently and kept to my schedule. i spent the rest of the day developing some other stories and plans as i've felt more creative urges coming back, which was a nice change of pace...
although apologies again for the lackluster page. hopefully the next one will have some neat presentation.

really digging kims design and how she looks in this page.. esp that last panel. im not sure if its just the big cartoon eyes but she looks very young in that panel especially compared to all the other patients in it

2019-04-20 07:11:23 +0000 UTCyou're very observant. :) it was just a tiny... hm... i don't want to call it a microaggression necessarily, but i'll just use that word anyway. the nurse is somewhat able to recognize familiar patients, but she's reading off of a list, so she called anabelle (who happened to be first alphabetically) "ana" as a gesture of familiarity or casualness, although in doing so kind of made it obvious she's not really listening enough to catch things like preferred nicknames (although she did catch kim's desire to not be called kimmy, at the cost of kim losing immediate favor with her by asserting herself w/another patient)
