Added 2021-08-23 21:08:19 +0000 UTChi everyone. perhaps you noticed i didn't update on the first. my hand has been hurting a lot after the art done in july -- it actually started hurting in june, after A LOT of requests combined with commissions to deal with my dog's vet bills and making side comics. july is when the pain became completely omnipresent and breaks or tylenol or ice or heat or all of the above weren't making it tolerable anymore.
my doctor said to rest it and wait for it to be better, and it still hasn't really made any progress in not hurting. i talked to her again, and she said it might take up to 2 months to heal. don't really know what i'm supposed to do, since the idea of just being able to not work for 2 months is laughable... it's something available to me, and i'm thankful for that, but it's just weird for the only medical advice to be "stop working at all for an indefinite amount of time."
this image and the previous FaD strip came into existence because it's really driving me up a wall to not do what i've done daily for forever alone in my somewhat secluded apartment. i feel like being able to push it even further is a temptation i'm bad at fighting once i get a little taste of drawing again, and that drawing through the pain until it escalates to being intolerable will be not such a great idea for my long-term future as an artist, so i will probably stop drawing again until it's resolved, or at least severely cut back on drawing anything.
it felt worth it to put that out there, since august kind of just came and went without anything, because i couldn't draw a notice without pain.
