update for february
Added 2020-02-03 04:22:39 +0000 UTChi folks. i don't know if anybody noticed, but i didn't post an update or poll on the first of this month. i went to the ER once on the last night of january and then again on february 1st. they told me they weren't really equipped to do anything for me at a hospital and i have to see an ears, nose, & throat specialist, since the most prominent and distressing symptom is layers of loud ringing in my ears, numbness in my jaw, and a recurring sensation that my throat can't swallow or breathe when it can.
at the same time, i have to find a new place to live this month and move all of our stuff, which is not... ideal given the situation. my wife is doing the best that she can to make sure that stays on a timeline because i've basically been reduced to barely able or willing to eat or sleep much and just... crying for hours on end for it to stop.
anyway, i've posted a little bit on twitter, but i figured i should update here too when i could, i'm really hoping the wait to see this specialist for follow-up isn't super long, but i really can't do much drawing. i don't know how long it's going to take, but i had tentatively said on twitter that i need at least a week away from work to figure out what's happening and what to do. the clinic i usually go to and the specialist were both closed on saturday and sunday, and my wife has to go to a disability follow-up meeting on monday, so i know that until tuesday there's going to be no progress made anyway.
extremely sorry for the delays and pauses... these were the same symptoms i saw my regular doctor for and was prescribed antibiotics for, but they've been steadily getting worse. i wish i was handling them better. i will try to update with something more conclusive as it comes.

i hope that your wait time on a specialist is (relatively) quick, and/or your symptoms improve before then! i know how crumby doctors in general can be, especially waiting on specialists, believe me. best of luck to you and your wife on finding and moving somewhere too. you've got lots of support from the outside and way more than enough justification for as long of a pause in activity as you need
