Added 2020-11-12 18:29:43 +0000 UTCi'm not sure how much i have to say about this page. i was on the fence about including it at all, because it pretty much cements the arc for carmilla that i'm unsure about. i wasn't sure i could come up with something else for her in such a short amount of time when my mind is more focused on the medical procedure i am having soon.
the other thing marked in this scene is a change in kim's approach as she attempts to please the staff (and is reprimanded for it).
i also wanted to say that i bothered to look up approximations of how many calories are IN blood, and carmilla is not by any means being starved... she IS getting about 1500 per day on three pouches every meal, but it's bumped up to 2100 on four pouches.
the fact that the staff remains ambivalent to her dietary habits here is definitely an interesting contrast between tabitha and even just the jab at kim here about how much she took. she is very much breaking the rules within the rules...
on a last note, i wrote out the last scenes that are left in the script, which is itself a mess after so much hacking away and little actual effort in WRITING DOWN how, why, or what in particular i was editing and replacing the material with. here is the list:

the fact that the first thing that kim is doing to look like she's Trying is food, right after the conversation with Tabitha... hits hard. seems like she's picking up tips from the others in more ways than one. love that sugar immediately offers to go get more food for her... Sugar Care Her. also love the expressions, as usual -- kim's big ol' eyes are adorable

2020-11-12 22:52:23 +0000 UTCi considered it, but honestly i think it would be too emotionally harrowing haha... maybe for catharsis. the issue with first drafts or even second drafts is that they have genuinely bad ideas. sharing the rawest form of the writing (not in a good way) is kind of like sharing all of your thoughts with no mouth to filter out what people get to hear. there are a lot of things you go "oh, upon rereading, this has this horrible implication." for catharsis, i've already done much of the rough writing live on stream, so there really isn't hiding much. this reminds me that i keep forgetting to do the write-up about getting to the finished outline for it.

2020-11-12 21:13:25 +0000 UTCi understand it'd probably be a hell of a thing to put together if you had to do it by memory and idk how much you have of old versions of the script, but after the comic is done, if you made some kind of postmortem on the editing process and how scenes were axed/consolidated/rewritten, i'd definitely be interested in reading! i've learned a lot about writing in general from your stuff since i never had any formal education in it (homeschooled) that aside, i love kim's expressions when she's handing back the milk carton lmao. she's obviously coming to see them in a different light from her experiences and what tabitha said to her about not compromising on values no matter how much it gets you mistreated. there is no fear in her expression and if anything the staff seems intimidated by her wordlessly staring at them (and sugar helping out with a little proxy glare) also can i just say baby sugar continues to be adorable with her big ole eyes... i just want to ruffle her hair... babey lesbien u_u it's wild seeing how comparatively sedated she is here next to drop-out (ect exhaustion/disorientation i'm sure, among other things). i'm currently dealing with a lot of exhaustion/disorientation/fun withdrawal symptoms from meds/sleep complications and it's made me a lot more conscious of her general tired demeanor haha. Hashtag Relatable, sugar!!
