i promise you, the sketch is virtually identical to the lines for this page, lmao. all i have for you is this tiny pair of thumbnails to figure out the perspective i wanted in the last panel.

anyway, like i said, you can see felix glance in the direction that charlotte did on the last page. i think maybe he didn't even know Why he looked that way, just instinctively did. 

charlotte's tail in this scene lashes a lot, as a cat's tail does, and it's the best way to notice her anxiety. if she were sitting down, she would probably just not have her tail visible and tuck it under herself or a table.
she wears a skirt, and i thought about how a skirt would function with a tail - ultimately i decided that you would probably tuck the tail under the skirt, and if you would just need to... control it enough to not lift your skirt too much. they're already such restrictive pieces of clothing - there's tons of ways you can't move in a skirt without showing your entire pussy to the world, so it made sense to me. in this scene, i kept in mind that her tail would lash, but still needed to be constrained to some degree. it might still go up a little high, since i chose the height based on shot placement, and making the movement of the tail noticeable...

i like to imagine that felix has a huge button on the dashboard in their head where they control their body that just says "EMERGENCY CUSTOMER SERVICE MODE" on it and it was mashed here, lmfao.
i did seriously want him to look kind of like he was zapped with a shock collar when he kept fumbling this interaction - i would say nero is completely uninvolved in this scene (obviously, he'd go apeshit about skipping work), but felix's overarching inclination to try to correct undesirable behaviors by the mental version of slamming a ruler over both of their hands is far from exclusive to just nero. i seriously considered dropping this beat, as it was specified in the script, but i felt more compelled to try to squeeze it in. even in the thumbnail you can see i wasn't going to attempt the "zap" felix in that panel. the pain before the sudden switch to forced friendliness felt like it hit a lot different.

a lot of this page is setup, especially as like... a microcosm of the larger plot beats, so i don't have much else to say.
