FaD strip: self-expression

i've been reading a lot of old folie a dupe strips while contemplating heart-to-art's content and this felt like a lighthearted one i could draw in just a day. even then i thought it would be half the length it is, lmao. on top of it i scrapped dupe's first reaction to "get angy" which was them doing a limp-wristed cat paw hand gesture and say "rowr" because it would take an extra panel to do it. inability to visualize strikes again...
of note is that most of the expressions in folie a dupe aren't literal translations of faces dupe "really" makes, but an expression of the emotion itself. i've drawn dupe much more realistically before
and it's pretty obvious they have a limited range of emotion. they aren't built literally like a one-for-one lizard, with hips that can accommodate bipedalism, dextrous fingers, and cheeks with the necessary muscle to extend and narrow the mouth. (there was also a joke about it in a different folie a dupe strip)
so the expressions they make are primarily changes to the length of the mouth and the visibility of the eyelids - hence, her expression in this strip is just a really long mouth and eyes squinting really hard.
i see no reason to contain this one to the $15 tier since i already uploaded it publicly, so. be free... next DYSTAI page is lined and i'll finish it either today or tomorrow. i'm sleep-deprived and i don't know how fast i'll work.
