LOTS of small details to keep track of in this page...

-sugar's hairstyle is different in the ID. i assume it's the hairstyle in her ref chopped off to just a nub on top, which grew out over time, probably forming the base for her current hairstyle.

-the machine sugar's idling by in the first panel is an advia centaur XPT, with some connected machinery in the background. this is the machine that she was preparing a quality control run for on the previous page

-the machine she's performing troubleshooting for is based on a roche cobas 6800

-the ID states that she's an immunology technologist. i think i want her title to be more specific than just a medical laboratory scientist, but we'll see...

-i imagine lola texts sugar on the dot every day she works about lunch. it would make more sense for her to have lunch exactly halfway through her shift, but it makes it more obvious and unnatural to have lola text exactly at 7:30 than at 7:00

-sugar's text history is her explaining why sugar doesn't dissolve readily under cold conditions, like why you have to put sugar into hot coffee before icing it at home. i decided to go with this for hopefully obvious thematic reasons, but also just because it's something that sugar COULD infodump about, but also something lola could wonder about. i imagine that lola asked, which is what prompted sugar to explain, rather than sugar just explaining why because she wanted to.

anyway, that's all i have to say about this page for now. relieved to have managed to sketch two pages this week. shabbat shalom!
