i really enjoyed drawing the panels for this page. fun stuff, but of course the one drawing the art would enjoy drawing headshots.
the basic idea that felix lies, and premeditates it, even if there might be some obvious immediate negative consequences has been established by the previous pages, and this page establishes that felix also tends to make it worse for himself in the process of compensating or trying to draw attention away from said lies. really, all that's left to add to the premise on a representative level is the motivations for felix lying -- which the next page handles, obviously.
i noticed norm and nero have a lot of parallels right around this point. for people more familiar with nero as a character, it's probably strikingly odd that felix is doing this at all. most of the few lines that he has in sketch comics are about how work is more important than anything else. gatekeeper that he is, his reason for existing is to keep alters restrained in their specific roles, performing their specific functions, preserving the delicate barriers between memories and identities. to him, doing your job takes precedent over ANYTHING else, whether that job is as an alter, or as a swing manager at waccas.
patreon deleted the rest of my lovingly crafted commentary and it's like almost 1 am now and i have a headache so i am just giving up on this one. sorry folks.
