hi y'all. i completely forgot it was thursday and i was supposed to do midnight commentary. i will type the commentary for this in a little bit; right now i have to go pick up my dog's medication refill after feeding her and giving her her other medicine (which they are going to be refilling late, awesome). have the page for now so you can at least see it, haha.

EDIT: alright. i've always had a soft headcanon that felix is autistic, making them more prone to sensory overload -- here, the particular co-front would also make them more sensitive.
given my usual style of writing, it definitely looks like what should happen next is an explosion, but i like that felix just kind of copes instead. they do have to deal with the fast pace and loud face of the food service industry almost every day. at almost 30, it'd be weird if they couldn't emotionally regulate at least a little, too.

also, the character directly behind izzi's smear in panel 1, with the purple speech bubble, is sandra -- one of izzi's two current girlfriends. her ref is really old:

she's using a stylus on her phone because her nails are too long to use her hands and she is wearing pink croc sandals to match izzi's green ones.
initially, she wasn't planned to be in this scene -- all the characters were listed as guy 1-7, and then got fleshed out when i designed them in one sitting using a random animal generator. i decided the person in the script asking izzi if she's okay after she vomits (wow, spoilers) sounded a little more emotionally invested in izzi's well-being, and that i could add some ties to extant backstory for izzi while saving myself some trouble using an already-designed character at the same time. aubrey would never in 1,000 years allow this level of jackassery, so sandra was the only option.

in fact, i dunno if i posted the other characters in the prev. page commentary, but these are the rest: 

#1 is a friend of izzi's from a roller derby team. parakeet. she's also a lesbian, very laid back. unfortunately, the wrist brace didn't get many chances to be visible.
#2 is a polar bear, also a lesbian. kind of wanted to challenge myself to make her look like a polar bear without looking like whittacker. could've done better, could've done worse! very class clown kind of personality.
#3 is a long-time ex of izzi's. they don't talk often, but don't really have any bad blood between each other -- this ex has a different ex-girlfriend with whom she has to split custody for a toddler, and it takes up a lot of her time. she's a chicken.
#4 was sandra.
#5 is a llama and doesn't particularly like izzi in a mean girls kind of way. i think he wants to see her get hit by a car or something. he is okay friends with a decent amount of her other friends, so will sometimes show up to talk to other people.
#6 is a rhinocerous iguana and they are also not a fan of izzi. they continuously forget how annoying they find her in-person because she sounds like she should be fine on paper. sometimes when you use they pronouns you take what you can get...
#7 is a chipmunk who i imagine has had a similarly negative experience in the psych system, but is like 4 years younger than izzi, and in his loud and proud phase. they play this fun game called "who can escalate the conflict more before a knife comes out"
