hi everyone. not a lot of sketch comics got done -- mostly because i've been focusing on writing. i just really want the first draft done... there are 23 scenes left in act 2 to finish. but script-writing is very delicate, and i don't always have the mental clarity for the nuance of dialogue, so i will frequently write out scenes beat by beat, with the dialogue being written as a "gist" rather than the literal dialogue. that is why a good sum of the screenshots are just walls of text instead of script.
of the scenes left to finish, 8 of them have highly detailed summaries that are basically the script in non-script format, so... 15 that need heavy creative development still.
the hero arc is by far the hardest part for me to write, as it's just more difficult for me to channel the juvenile mindset necessary to think you can fix all of society's problems, you could do it if YOU had god powers and no one would find any of your fixes offensive or stupid, etc. i still feel that the B-plot is an important part of the story, thematically -- escapist fantasies are VERY frequently about defeating evil in the world.
the penguin raptor is one of the three founding cult members; she is a freelance artist, and designed the cult robes. she would probably still send you feet pics if you paid her too, though. i'm still working on her wheelchair, as it has to be designed for digitigrade feet. Dog wheelchairs, unfortunately, are not really about sitting in an upright position, so they are of no help.
the sketches of jessie and shiloh are mostly concept art to test things, such as how these two can talk while in bed (realized later that this was poorly thought-through, because they are usually spooning), how Shiloh can be the big spoon without it being too awkward, whether some poses are possible, etc.
enjoy the writing snippets, but know that act 2 is not being written in chronological order, and some of these snippets are BIG early lategame spoilers. many of them are on a yellow background because my eyes started hurting looking at the black on white. no special meaning there.
