idletry: may update
Added 2024-05-25 05:26:57 +0000 UTChi everyone. i was hoping to finish the script last month, but it didn't happen. it would be done by now, but there were a lot -- A LOT -- of structural issues in act 3, which resulted in adding a few scenes, but a slower work pace as well.
all of act 1 and about half of act 2 is edited in a "1.5" draft for beta readers. these fixed some continuity errors, rough the big thing is that i'm just nixing the 3 month break altogether because. i don't care. i will still edit after beta feedback, but after the script is finished, i'm going to start thumbnailing the pages of the comic, if only to start getting used to composing print pages with a limited amount of space... thumbnails aren't much work lost if i end up changing something. i'm super rusty with art, too... it'll be alright once it becomes a daily thing again, insofar that my hand tolerates it.
really tentatively unsure how i want to go about uploading the pages through this process... on one hand, obviously people like frequent updates. on the other hand, i sort of don't want My Vision™ to be influenced by nigh real-time commentary about the characters -- especially because they are relatively "love to hate them" characters, and my brain is awesome at interpreting "this person would not like this character if they were a real person" as "this person does not like the writing"...
seems like patreon lets you shut off comments now, so i may try to split the difference and allow comments at the end of a scene but not on all of the pages of the scene. takes the heat off feeling like you have to comment on every page also, perhaps? but frankly, i don't even know how i'm going to go about the sex scenes in this comic, yet, either, so it will probably be nothing more than a series of imperfect decisions.
thought that i would update for now... i'm still plugging away at it.
