A Lesson in Lessons - Analysis of Episode 1
Added 2021-09-18 02:54:02 +0000 UTCHello beautiful people!!!
It is TIME to start the analysis of the creation of my first self-written series! Lessons! I wanted to do a rundown of the series, talking about what went into the making of it, and how this series helped me grow as a creator.
This was near and dear to my heart, because it was one of the first times I really felt like the content I was creating was really mine. From start to finish, it was all my own, and I was genuinely proud of it.
The series began, for those of you that don't know, as a prompt from a patron (Bella). It was originally supposed to be a couple of audios showing a slow corruption of an innocent listener by the Speaker.
Episode 1 was released on February 12th. Sometimes it feels like a lifetime ago. Back then, I was still growing in my audio editing skills, less than two months past the creation of the Christmas Collab, what was at the time the greatest undertaking of my audio career by far. There's so many SFX that I designed or updated, just for this series specifically so that I could try and make it the best it could be.
This episode was the introduction of the main two characters, the Listener, and Eli. There was never an official mention of his name throughout the series (vocally), but everyone just called him Eli so canonically, that is his name. I wanted to create a simple scenario to ease the listeners into the world. Something easy to slip into and sweet so as to allow the Listener to bond with Eli beyond just a sexual nature. He's kind and gentle, and never shows any sign of being anything but. I wanted the series to advance with different acts as well. This one began with just hands, and I actually was writing in the openings of each episode which body parts/acts would be introduced with each one. I couldn't have even imagined where we would end up.
Here is the script attached for anyone who wants to read how I wrote it. At the beginning of every script, I list the main plot points/themes so that I have a baseline to work from. By the end of the series, they aren't always accurate due to rewrites and such, but it helps to build a foundation.
The beginning of a whole new chapter of my life. A Lesson in Intimacy.

Thank you polly! I am so proud of it, and I'm so glad that everyone enjoyed it enough that we ran it for several months! I look forward to seeing how everyone thinks of the behind the scenes for the rest of the series! 🥰💕

2021-09-19 16:16:30 +0000 UTCThis being your first self-written series should honestly be the biggest brag like all the immersive plot and lore that was headed our way (and difficult choices like wheW when we had to choose who to shoot was truLY). Super excited to read your commentary 'cause I love behind-the-scenes everything lol.
