The pneumatic doors barely slide without a helping push, groaning like the bones of an ancient metallic beast. Footsteps echo down the long abandoned halls of the lower containment ward. Two shadows come together. Blue smiles weakly, embracing Red in his arms. The hug is short, but firm and loving as always. Red's lips gently brush Blue's forehead as he cradles his head in his hands. He tenderly traces his fingers through Blue's hair before reaching into his pocket, eyes glancing about carefully.
"Take these darts brother."
"Tranquilizer?"
"This sleep will be... much... much longer."
"Oh. I see..."
"Brother. You look wary. What is wrong?"
"Red, I... I don't know about this. What if Bishop is right? What if he really can fix us?"
"Shhhhh... sh sh sh... it's okay. I know you're afraid. But do not worry. If you stick to the plan, you'll never be afraid again. Just like me."
"But..."
"Brother... do you not trust me?"
Blue averts his eyes.
"I... do."
"I give you the choice, Blue. Do you want to be the one who pulls the trigger? Or would you rather leave the dirty work to me, and you can go keep an eye on the wolf?"
