Patreon goal changes
Added 2016-02-25 16:02:37 +0000 UTCIt seems to me that most people are more interested in comic pages than in pin-ups. So, I changed a couple of the upcoming goals to help increase the rate of comics. After much deliberation, I have decided the next goal will be for a Bonus comic. A third comic updated monthly to start and getting faster if the funding pics up. It will be either Original or Parody, depending on what I have the best idea for at the time. And it will be a short comic, most likely 10 pages or less.
There is also now a $3 reward level. Where you will gain access to voting in the monthly polls. You will still have to go to the $5 reward level to be able to enter suggestions in the Sketch Lottery.

Oh well, it was just an idea. It just seems odd that you're both on Patreon and don't show up on the Patreon search due to adult content but his patronage has doubled in the last three months. It must be the KP comics, because he only puts out one page a month. But they are full color pages, although that shouldn't make a difference. The only thing I can think of that might be hurting the patronage is the lack of full blown completed comics. You were right about people wanting comics over pin ups, that's the main reason I subscribe to JAB and how I found your site, but anybody visiting there is usually looking for comics. Maaaybe you could color the Double D Ranch comic and ask JAB to post it on his site or maybe the Danger girl comics, it's just the only thing I can think of right now to help boost the patronage, because I would really like to see more of your comics too. (Call me selfish 😈) But there has to be a way to get more patrons, I just can't think of any other way right now. Good luck.

If you do, or even if you don't, he seems like a nice guy, maybe you could ask him what he did to boost patrons. He was struggling for a while there too, but now he's above $500 a month and he does fewer comics than you do. Of course he does primarily Kim Possible comics so that might be part of it, but it never hurts to ask. Right? Here to hoping for the best. 👍

And I'll just straight up replace the next goal, which was an additional pic inked and colored for a new Bonus comic starting up. Of course, this still means I need to find a way to get more folks to come over and join the Patreon.

Maybe, to get things off to an easy start, you could take some of the Randi drawings and stitch them together with some layout and continuity drawings. They already seem to follow a theme and pattern. Just a thought. I also understand about the not sticking to a page count. Moose over at Dirty Comics posts 4-6 page comics, like you said, enough to get the action across. Sounds good, I can't wait to see what happens. Like I said too, I'd be willing to give up a sketch pin up or two in exchange for a Randi or MILF comic page. OOOH, maybe you could run a poll and ask the patrons which they would rather have X# sketches or X# inked comic pages per month or X# of each per month, and it could maybe help stream line your work load by focusing on one end or the other. 2016-02-25 23:57:57 +0000 UTCWhen I said 3 pages, I was thinking basically things like the Randi pics I do, just taken out to fill up a few pages so there's some real action and such. Taking a scene and making it into a couple of comic pages. I don't want to stick to a hard and fast page count, just whatever is needed to get the idea across.

I especially would love to see a Randi comic. I also agree that more short ones would be good, not only allowing for more comic ideas but more comics. I think 10 page comics would be great, I know JAB does some of his that way too, but I think 3 pages might be considered just a tease unless it's really hot and sexy but that just makes people want more not less too. 2016-02-25 21:03:32 +0000 UTCInking and coloring a single pic is about the same amount of time investment as inking a single full comic page like Gone Fishin'. The American Wet Dream isn't so bad, because its more cartoony, but it still takes more time to draw 6 or 7 panels than one a single one.

Probably things done in 3-10 pages. But I know a lot of people just want more American Wet Dream. And don't really give a shit about what else I draw.

I know it takes more effort to do a comic page than to sketch, ink and color a pin up but your Double D Ranch and American Wet Dream comics are so good that I would be willing to give up a sketch or two just to have more comic pages, but adding a bonus page goal would be the next best thing, I guess.
