Change to Subscription Billing

Howdy, y'all.

Just thought I'd check in and let you all know I've switched the Sileo Patreon to Subscription Billing effective immediately. While I don't expect this will change anything for you guys at the moment, it will change things for new and returning Patrons.

Essentially, billing now occurs on the same date you signed up every month. If you signed up on the 25th, you will no longer pay once and then again in a week's time when the month rolls over - you will pay once, then again on the 25th of every month going forward.

I've been waiting a long time for Patreon to implement this change. The billing cycle on Patreon has had a major impact on how we operate and was one of the key factors behind the monthly builds - something I fear has done more harm than good more recently. With that said, I was already pondering a move away from monthly releases to instead avoid crunch and release more significant updates. With subscription billing, it really seems like the perfect time, too. But we have yet to make that decision - we'll let you know when/if we do.

As a small check-in on our progress, work on the new introduction is going well. It's going to be much longer than the existing one with several new scenes and tons of extra dialogue. In particular, both Axel and Diego really shine here - you get a very strong feel for their personalities right off the bat in this new version, and so far I'm loving the results. I'm sure you will too!
