Browser-Based Sileo Release Now Available In Beta!

Wow, it sure has been a rocky ride getting to this point, huh?!
From starting work on official support, to canceling it due to issues in Ren'Py, and then reviving it shortly after when an update to Ren'Py fixed all those issues! It's enough to make you feel dizzy!
But now, finally, the day has come for us to launch the first official version of Sileo with web browser support! We've done everything in our power to ensure that Sileo offers a first-class experience when playing it via your browser, and we really hope all that hard work paid off!
And, of course, alongside our build with web support, we have the fantastic new authentication gateway developed for us by Slouch to help ensure only you guys can get at these builds! That way, our server will (hopefully!) remain fast and snappy even with a bunch of people playing, and our hosting costs (also, hopefully!) won't make us want to cry! Internal testing has gone well, but bear in mind that this gateway is also in beta - there's a potential for bugs both in Sileo itself and in the website, and there's a possibility you might run into some issues! If so, we'll be monitoring this post for the next few hours at least, so drop a comment here with your issue and we'll get right onto fixing it!
I'll post a changelog down below, but so you know what you're getting into, this build was initially based on this month's public release, acting as a solid foundation for the remaining development to our web support. The content contained within this build is the same as the public release, but there are many changes and improvements alongside the web-centric stuff. All this still will appear in this months still to come Patreon release as well. but if you're wanting an early preview of any of those changes, now's your chance!
We strongly recommend using a Chromium-based web browser to play Sileo. This could be Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Opera, Brave, Vivaldi, you name it!
We do NOT recommend using Firefox as Ren'Py Web does not run well in it!
And finally, please be aware that limitations in WebKit mean that Safari is NOT supported! Futhermore, Apple insists that all web browsers on iOS run on WebKit. Therefore, with only WebKit browsers to choose from, iOS as a platform is also NOT supported.
(With that said however, that isn't to say it won't work at all... in fact, we know that it can, albeit with a few issues. You are more than welcome to try playing on iOS or in Safari, and we're interested to hear how you get on! Just be aware that we might not be able to fix the problems you might experience while playing.)
Alright, enough talk! It's time to jump in!

0.44.5 Web (Beta) Changelog
1) Beta Release of our web-browser based client. Exclusive to Patreon while in beta. Will soon roll out these builds to everyone.
2) Note this build was constructed on top of the 0.44 Public Build - it contains everything that build did, plus all the new bells and whistles listed below.
3) This update debuts alongside our self-hosted Patreon portal for accessing these web releases. As such, the portal itself is also currently in beta. Note that once out of beta, the public browser based release of Sileo will be hosted via Itch.io instead.
- Ren'Py Updated to version 7.5.1.22070801 (July 8th, 2022). This build is the first Sileo release based on the 7.5 generation of Ren'Py releases.
- The debut of our browser support functionality. There will be lots of small things that look or behave differently in this build to ensure the experience in your browser is as good as it can be.
- Initial download of 37MB to get started. The remaining assets stream in as required.
- Incorporates our custom-generated LODs which provide a substantially better visual experience when compared with the typical Ren'Py Web experience for a cost below 10MB extra during the initial download.

- Persistent data (IE: Gallery unlocks) are now manually saved every time the game reaches a new chapter. This fixes a web-specific issue, but should also improve overall gallery unlock reliability.
