Sileo iOS Beta Build Release!

...but don't tell Steve Jobs! He might catch ligma!

At long last, it's time to unleash the beta release for Sileo on iOS! This release is fully uncensored and functionally identical to the version on other platforms.

The minimum requirements are largely estimations at this stage, but the lowest/earliest device we expect Sileo to run properly on is the iPhone 7/8 Plus. It might crash on the ordinary iPhone 7/8 due to memory limitations, but you're welcome to try regardless. iOS 13 is the current minimum version required.

In order to release uncensored, we're releasing Sileo for iOS as a standalone .ipa package. This means sideloading is required and there are a few steps to get everything set up. Once you've done this however, sideloading Sileo (and other apps for that matter!) should be a piece of cake going forward.

We're using AltStore as our preferred method for sideloading as this has given the best results in our experience. You're welcome to try other methods if you so wish. Note that for sideloading, a PC or Mac will be required and you will need to sync with it (via wifi) periodically to ensure Sileo remains accessible. This method utilizes your very own Apple ID to sign the certificate for the app, but unless you have a paid developer account, these certificates only last for 7 days. So long as your iPhone or iPad can sync with AltServer periodically however, this 7 day timer will be refreshed.

Instructions for Sideloading

1) Setup AltServer using the following instructions: Setup for Windows / Setup for Mac.

2) If you've followed the above steps correctly, you should now have a working 'AltStore' app installed on your device. Download the Sileo .ipa file, then open the AltStore app, go to the 'My Apps' tab and tap the + in the top left of the window. Select the .ipa file you downloaded then sit back and wait. You may need to enter your Apple ID at this stage to sign the certificate. The installation may take a few minutes. You'll know it's worked when you see Sileo added to the list of sideloaded apps.

If you need to trust a developer account to proceed, you can do this by opening Settings, General, VPN & Device Management, then selecting the certificate displayed before choosing Trust.

If you're an existing AltStore user and get the error 'No provisioning profile with the requested identifier...', you need to reinstall AltStore using AltServer on your PC or Mac.

To update the installed version of Sileo with future updates, just repeat step 2 using the new .ipa file.

As a side note, make sure you allow AltServer to run on your computer as it's needed for the automatic renewal of certificates. Note that on MacOS, the mail plugin needs to be running as well - just open the Apple Mail app to fire this up.

And that's it! Hopefully everything goes smoothly for you all. It's a more complicated process than installing Sileo on any other platform (thanks, Apple), but this is the only way a fully uncensored iOS native version of Sileo can exist.
