Trigger Warnings: Torture & Murder & Sexism
---------------------
cIsabella "…"
cBrandon "And you still want to marry me?"
cIsabella "You're my only option, [cBrandon]."
cBrandon "Damn, you're a crazy bitch."
cIsabella "I know what I want."
cBrandon "Fine. I'll play your little game and tell you about my sister."
"For the next twenty or so minutes, I described [persistent.mcFirst] in all her unusual, timid, awkward glory. I told short little stories of her panicky nature, her kind heart, her nightmares, and our passionate lovemaking. I explained the things that drew us together and kept us close over the years. The more I talked, the more I got lost in the memories, and I found myself revealing how deep my need for her was and how desperately I missed her."
"When I was finished, I went to the small bar in the back of the room and poured myself another drink. Talking about her made it hurt all over again."
cIsabella "Haven't you had enough?"
"I glared at her, annoyed."
cBrandon "You're not her, and that shows each time you open your mouth. [persistent.mcFirst] is not someone who has strong ambitions, nor would she ever dare tell me what to do, especially not with attitude."
cIsabella "Seems like more of a flaw to me."
cBrandon "{b}She IS her flaws!{/b} They make her… her. I don't want {b}your version{/b} of a perfect [persistent.mcFirst]. I want [persistent.mcFirst]!"
"[cIsabella] grew quiet and nodded. I drank my alcohol and poured another glass while carefully looking over her. She was too tall, her body too toned, her face too symmetrical, her eyes too small… everywhere I looked at her, I found something {i}wrong{/i}. This idea of hers was insanity and would drive me mad long before it gave me any peace."
"But I was bored… maybe it would entertain me until it drove me crazy enough to kill her."
"I walked over to her and sat on the table in front of her."
cBrandon "Think you're capable of being a quiet, submissive little mouse for me?"
"She was clearly pissed, but she was smart enough to keep her mouth shut and nod."
cBrandon "Good. Now, kiss me, {i}Sister{/i}."
"She almost fell for it. [cIsabella] leaned upwards and reached out for me, but then hesitated, sat back down, and looked away."
cIsabella "It's embarrassing… and someone could see…"
"I grinned. [cIsabella] was quick to learn. That was good. [persistent.mcFirst] was far too shy to initiate anything, but she'd never turn me down."
cBrandon "The only good thing about {i}not{/i} being [persistent.mcFirst] is I don't have to hide from anyone."
"I leaned forward, gripped her brown hair with my hand, and pulled her up into my hungry kiss."

"I quickly found ways to ignore those little differences in appearance that initially annoyed me. Shoving her face in a pillow was the easiest, but blindfolds followed soon after. I bought her a new wardrobe full of attractive dresses I could imagine [persistent.mcFirst] wearing. [cIsabella] height was increasingly annoying, but the bigger curves in her hips and chest were differences I grew to enjoy."
"But fuck, that height. I couldn't stand looking {b}up{/b} at a woman, much less someone I was trying to imagine as my tiny, petite sister. In a drunken rage one night, I threw out all of [cIsabella]'s shoes with heels. She went barefoot most of the time from then on."
"Other things completely out of her control began to annoy me, too. I hated how Mother doted over [cIsabella], when she treated [persistent.mcFirst] so awfully. It infuriated me how the goons and guards respected her more than my sister. Even the simple oddity of my father addressing [cIsabella] by name instead of "girl" made my skin crawl."
"But [cIsabella] was a talented actress, so much so that I began to wonder if she was a little too talented. I continuously pushed her harder and harder, expecting her to snap, but she never did."

cBrandon "Fire is a magical thing."
"I sat on a stool in a basement cell with a barely conscious man tied up in front of me. I held a long, white taper candle in my hand, watching the tip slowly melt the wax beneath it. My hands and clothes were bloody, but my mind was at peace."
"Without my sister, this dungeon became my sanctuary."
cIsabella "Is it, Brother?"
cBrandon "Is it not obvious? Fire keeps us warm, cooks our food, and gives us light. Without fire, would humans even exist?"
cIsabella "I suppose we may have evolved differently."
cBrandon "But despite all its gifts, it's such a pure, destructive force. It commands respect as much as it deserves worship."
"[cIsabella] did not appreciate my passion for fire, but I didn't expect her to. I glanced over my shoulder to see her warming her bare feet with her hands."
cBrandon "Come here."
"Obedient as always, she came to my side. I moved to sit on the floor and pulled her into my lap, then brought the candle close to one of her feet for the fire to warm it. Her entire body was chilly, so I wrapped an arm around her and held her close, resting my face against her shoulder. She used [persistent.mcFirst]'s same shampoos and soaps, and her smell now always comforted me."
cBrandon "There's something else that's always warm besides fire."
"I heard her awkward, practiced chuckle. She did it well, but there was still some stiffness."
cIsabella "What would that be, hm?"
cBrandon "Fresh blood."
"I'd long ago determined that the man in front of us had nothing of value worth saying. I'd kept him around purely to entertain myself, and I'd grown bored. My answer surprised [cIsabella], but what surprised her more was the knife I plunged into his abdomen as I spoke. Blood splattered over us both as I repeatedly stabbed him until we were both drenched. The man screamed alongside [cIsabella]'s disgusted cries of protest."
cIsabella "[cBrandon]! What the fuc--"
"I silenced her whining by shoving my blood-coated fingers into her mouth."
cBrandon "Shhh. Suck 'em."
"I felt her body stiffen against me, clearly wanting to refuse my command, but just as my dear sister would, [cIsabella] gave in and obeyed. I nuzzled her ear and pulled her body tightly against me."
cBrandon "Just as nice as a hot bath, isn't it?"
"I pulled my fingers free and moved to sit across from her, then reached forward and began massaging the blood into her feet. My eyes roamed over her blood-soaked body. Her dress was wet against her body, showing off the curves of her breasts, and my body ached for her."
cBrandon "My beautiful Queen of Blood…"
"Her eyes sparkled with hope and excitement at that title just before I pushed her down onto the red, wet floor and kissed her. Her arms wrapped around my shoulders and her trimmed nails scratched my back, drawing a deep, lustful moan from my lips."
"It only took seconds to pull my cock free, lubricate it with the blood of our victim, and bury it deep inside her."
cBrandon "Sister… I love you."

"Months passed, and my life was slowly rebuilding. With [cIsabella] serving as my replacement-sister, it gave me enough strength to push forward and get my life and future back on track."
"I wasn't fooled in the slightest by the arrangement. I knew she wasn't [persistent.mcFirst], and I knew being comforted by this game was fucked up, but it all reminded me of what was important: my sister."
"[persistent.mcFirst] shared my blood. We would always be united by blood, and nothing could separate us permanently. My despair over the entire situation had blinded me to what was truly important: my future with my sister. I let the grief and jealousy and anger drown me, and now I was fighting to resurface."
"[cSebastian] was not a barrier. He was an obstacle. My weakness allowed him to get his claws into my sister and manipulate her mind when she was at her lowest. I failed to protect her, over and over again. I was truly ashamed of myself for falling apart when [persistent.mcFirst] needed me the most."
"I was more determined than ever to fix it. I would take her back by force, and then win back her love."
"But my time was running out… and that became more apparent to me than ever when I walked into the lounge one day to see a strawberry-blonde [cIsabella] and her own mother sitting together, making wedding plans."
cBrandon "…[cIsabella]?"
"The women hadn't heard me enter the room, and her head snapped around with surprise."
cIsabella "Excuse me, Mom. I'll be right back!"
"She darted across the room, grabbed my arm, and pulled me across the hall to the dining room. As soon as we were alone, I reached out and touched her long colorful hair."
cBrandon "Why?"
cIsabella "My brothers know about… you and her… if they saw me with dyed hair and contact lenses, they'd lose their fucking minds and ruin everything."
"I gripped her hair at the base of her skull and pulled down, hard. She muffled a cry of pain and bent her knees, squatting down until I looked down upon her."
cBrandon "{b}You{/b} are ruining everything."
"While calm on the outside, my soul was vibrating with fury. Seeing her like this was shaking the fragile foundation I'd been rebuilding since [cIsabella] entered my life."
cIsabella "[cBrandon], please, listen--"
cBrandon "No! {b}You listen.{/b} You serve {b}one purpose{/b} in this house. That future as my queen you so desperately desire hinges on you filling that role {b}flawlessly{/b}."
cIsabella "I have, haven't I?! This is just for the wedding!"
"I snorted and released her hair as I shoved her back against the wall. She stumbled, but caught herself."
cBrandon "You think I have any intention of marrying you looking like {b}that{/b}? Your appearance disgusts me."
"She fell to her knees in front of me and put her hands on my hips, rubbing them suggestively with those pleading ugly green eyes."
cIsabella "I promise I'll make this up to you, Brother--"
"I backhanded her, hard. She fell to her side onto the floor."
cBrandon "Don't insult me, whore. The terms of our arrangement were crystal-fucking-clear from day one. You will change it back immediately or you can get the fuck out of my house."
"I was about to leave her to her quiet crying so she could come to her senses, but a thought occurred to me, pausing me in my tracks. I knelt in front of her so I could look her in the eyes."
cBrandon "And just so we maintain that crystal-fucking-clear understanding, if you birth my children and they are born with your traits, I will kill them."
"Her eyes grew wide with horror."
cIsabella "You… you wouldn't… I can't control that! If they were all born with my traits you'd have no heir!"
cBrandon "I'll have a new wife instead."
cIsabella "No… you wouldn't…"
"I stood and left the room without another word."

"I honestly expected that to cancel the wedding and for her to go running back home. Those few minutes of seeing her old colors undid the mountain of work I'd done convincing myself she was an adequate replacement, and I wanted to be done with her completely. I felt… betrayed, all over again."
"However, her determination surprised me. She postponed the wedding, redyed her hair, and resumed her appropriate dress. It was like none of it ever happened. I had no idea what excuses she made to her family, nor did I care."
"Any sane woman would have run screaming from me, yet… here she was, more determined than ever."
"Instead, while I recovered from my hurt and anger through alcohol and training, [cIsabella] buried herself into genetic modification research. I was surprised to learn she was actually quite a brilliant woman."
"Eventually, she explained the concept. An embryo in vitro could be genetically engineered for specifically selected traits. Ethically, this would be used to remove diseases, defects, or disabilities, but it could also be used for something as simple as gender or hair color. The common name for this was called 'designer babies'."
"The technology had been around for a surprisingly long time, but due to ethical questions and unpopularity, hadn't received enough funding or research to make significant strides in Europe or the United States. However, it had been performed successfully in some Asian countries."
"[cIsabella] talked her family into funding this research under the guise of all the ethical applications, and made it into her personal pet project. This was how she planned to birth my heirs with acceptable traits."
"As a general person, I was impressed by her abilities, brilliance, persistence, and determination."
"But as the woman who was supposed to be serving as my sister and lover, I was pissed. She was {b}not{/b} [persistent.mcFirst]. My sister was not capable of anything like this. My sister would have argued with me, rejected me, called my bluff, or refused to give me children. She would have made me feel like a monster, and feel ashamed for it."
"My sister made me a better person. [cIsabella] did the opposite."
"I wanted my sister… I wanted to go to her and take her back. No one could ever truly replace her. But… was I ready for that? Was I strong enough? I worried I needed more training, more time to plan, and more time to heal."
"But without a substitute… without that reminder of my dreams, that outlet for my loneliness, and that fuel to motivate me forward… I might lose myself again. And I knew the perfect person who could take on that role too… [cVanessa]."
