Good afternoon guys and welcome to this MASSIVE sketchbook(s) tour. This is kind of funny cause I genuinely thought I wasn't going to have enough sketches for this tour, so I started drawing a lot last week, AND HERE WE ARE. Please enjoy and I'm sorry hahaha
A few things about this sketchbook tour
β’ I added the sketches we did together on our last drawing date, where we did a morning-long live full body study session
β’ Before my miscarriage I was feeling super unmotivated. I couldn't work and it was really hard to draw. Even the "I gotta think what to draw" was a lot. So I only drew what I saw in front of me (literally). So you'll see lots of sketches of my desk, table and my surroundings. I still wanted to show up and I didn't want to quit drawing, so this was a super gentle approach.
β’ There are A LOT of journaling about what I have been through regarding my miscarriage. When I was at the bottom of the hole and I didn't feel like drawing, Ed said I might find useful to draw my feelings, and so I did. My memory SUCKS right now guys (maybe since it was a traumatic thing I went through), and even though this was something painful to experience, I wanted to document it.
β’ I finished my main sketchbook, yaay! It took me a while, but I learned so much. During the last few pages I wanted to experiment with painting double page (cause gouache doesn't bleed through the other side) and movement. And I loved it.
I can't wait to start my new sketchbook. Now I think I want to paint both sides of the page : )
I hope you enjoyed this big sketchbook tour. Question for YOU: do you guys journal? But like with drawings? I'm only journaling with words (3 morning pages, every day) and for a LONG time I've refused to journal with drawings cause I thought it was something only Gemma Correll could do. She's so talented and her journals are so precious. I've been so afraid to copy her for years, so this is the first time I've journaled and this is why I've only shared these pages to you and to you only, shhhh! hahaha but please let me know your thoughts on journaling!
Have a wonderful Wednesday and week aheaaaad!
