Vin gawked openly at the shadowed face beneath the hood, for the first time visible without the mask that Talon held—broken—in his hand. Out of all the people in all the universe, billions upon billions of possibilities, she felt her blood freeze at the sight of the one person she professed to hate more than any other in existence. The true identity of one she'd grown to trust just as much.

"This is... This is a lie. You're not him. you're not-"

It was a thought she couldn't finish before her subconscious overtook her, spinning her away, taking off in a full sprint away from him before her psyche could fracture any more.

Sorry for posting this one so late in the day. I spent hours on the phone performing familial tech support this morning. 🎉

I guess Vin's been in bigger fights, but I really didn't want to draw her dodging a bunch of bullets, so, I settled for a dispute of the more domestic sort.
