Hour-long -dev6 test update and gameplay footage. With -dev6, we introduce multiple companion compatibility, as well as an often-requested upgrade for the Commonwealth's favorite canine, Dogmeat.
(Please forgive the framerate jankiness of this week's video. It came out that way from OBS, I discovered it after editing, and didn't have the time to reshoot the whole thing.)
Dogmeat's PACE AI now uses the same evasion/retreat/attack combat tactics as PANPC dogs. In other words, he monitors his own condition and withdraws from a fight temporarily when he takes too much damage. He then retreats a bit, pulls himself together, and reenters the fight from the different direction and perhaps at a different target.
The result is that this Dogmeat is basically all about hit-and-run tactics, rather than (as in vanilla) approaching every battle as a single fight to the death.
In this video, I do a vanilla vs. PACE comparison at Vault 111, and then we pop over to Diamond City and make the same trip towards DB Tech as in the last Piper video. Only this time, we stop over at Wilson Atomatoys for a very unwise visit with a bunch of PANPC super mutants. (Really, it didn't go well.)
As always, the current alpha -dev6 release of PACE is available on the Greslin Games Discord, in the PACE #dev-releases channel. Early releases of -dev7 will be out for Patreon supporters in the #early-dev-releases channel this weekend, probably.
