Throwback - Forest Road Bases

Hi all,  Due to some topics from out Discord channel - we realized it would be cool sharing our Forest Bases tutorial created in, wait for it...2016th 😯😊 

Forest Road Bases (Marko Miladinović special recipe)  

First step is a little bit of sculpting. You can work as well with the real stones or sculpt a little brick, stone, shape that you like. Depending on the topic you choose for your base.

Next step is processing and arranging. I was working on processing with fine sandpaper. And in the latter process I pulled out some of the stones. (Touch of time) - giving some age and story to this ancient forest stone path. 

Next phase : Let your imagination run wild and enjoy!  I wanted to give a bit of fantasy and mystical look to these bases with colors so I enhanced these browns with greens and blues. To accent the stones and moss.  Also I played a bit with brushstrokes adding textures and overall feel to these bases.  

And for the final step, but not less important. Scenery. I have used grass and flowers from Joefix studio. We have met Joeri Michiels and his father on Scale Model Challenge '16. They produced (Scenery, Accessories, Layout, Building, Military Grass Tuft's, , Fine details, Trees...etc)  We haven't had many chances finding these cool products before. Traveling to Miniature Painting/competition events was great for meeting people and finding cool merch, products and supplies. Those are nice memories with these pandemic years lockdowns. 

And…. This is how the bases looked at final!
