Blood Bowl - Quick, Easy & Fun Tutorial

Dear Craftworldians,

Welcome to the new tutorial.

This time we prepared a quick guide on painting a character from Blood Bowl Game,

using techniques of Underpainting & Overlapping Layers to create a

fresh and expressive storytelling and bring the mood of the character up.

First thing I did was choose a cheering head from the sprue that looked less intimidating. As,

Blood Bowl, though a comical game, is still a game of violence.

I decided to create a scene of a Norse player, cheering after a successful game.

I converted his arm & hand using bits from the box, by changing his hand from holding a weapon to holding a rugby ball.

As you will notice, I primed the model using white primer only. So that the colors applied over keep their brightness and saturation.

Instead of focusing on blending, I focused on creating a contrast and volumes using brushstrokes.

Creating rich variations of tones used for painting this cheerful face.

We created a quick representation of all the steps, for you to get fun and informational insight, and also to use it as an exercise while you practice some of the showcased steps. :)

Ps.  The project we announced coming soon is moved (for later this month).

We will be able to share some updates from next Monday, and we are working on upcoming tutorials featuring mentioned minis. ^^
Sneak Peek:

Seems that one character dropped glasses* 🤭

Have fun,

Cheers,

These short little tutorials are great! The more of your tutorials I watch, the more the concepts behind underpainting and overlapping layers sinks into my understanding! Keep it coming!

Hmmm I wonder if it was a young wizard that dropped those glasses?
