It doesn’t take much imagination to understand why Constrictor Drakes bear their name, as they are the most serpentine of the lesser Wyverns, from their hunting methods to their puff adder-like jaws and tooth shape. They combine the worst qualities of snake and wyverns, resulting in a venomous, choke-happy, flying serpent the size of a horse. The Constrictor Drake’s vivid warning colors only heighten one’s unease because one can only imagine the kind of predator they are trying to deter.

The Drake's hunting method is devious; as it weakens its prey with its venomous fangs, before constricting the poisoned creature with its tail. The weakened creature’s feeble attempts at breaking the tail’s grapple allow the Drake to use its reaction to grasp it even tighter, methodically strengthening its hold on the target before eventually devouring it whole. The Drake’s serpentine body and draconic wings grant it great speed and agility, being able to evade incoming attacks and retreat with its prey suffocating in its gullet.
