What Video Topic Should I Do For Halloween?
Added 2018-09-18 15:54:59 +0000 UTCHalloween is only a month away, and I happen to specialize in some pretty intense research (demons and magic). I was going to publish a video on the history of the theology of Hell...but then I started thinking I should do something more along the lines of demonology. I can't decide. If you vote for a demonology topic, write a suggestion too!

What about a video on the history of demonology, or the history of demonic possession and or exorcisms? You could make references to exorcisms of ancient times, several in the Bible if I’m not mistaken, demons/possessions/exorcisms as they were understood in the Middle Ages by the clergy and the laity, how it became a big part of popular culture (and what kind of responses religious leaders and or communities have had to the proliferation of it all in film/tv/etc). There was even a remake of sorts of the classic Exorcism film in the form of a television show a few years ago (though it actually turned out to serve as a sequel to the old movie by continuing the story and expanding upon the demon lore). Sorry for rambling 😅

2018-10-17 00:23:17 +0000 UTCI saw the post too late but would've voted for Hell in any case! But it was close. I'm always intrigued by both how old the idea of an after-life judgment is (but not necessarily present in the Old Testament; I'm thinking of ancient Egypt and how the soul had to be weighed against a feather) and how we've expanded it and colored in details over the years. I also enjoy the fact that hell is usually for everyone else!
