Hello sketchbook tier!!! it's been a long time since I've had anything exclusively for the higher tier here, my apologies for that! Now that my healths been better I've been getting back into drawing on paper. One thing I've been experimenting with is learning how to use a g-nib! These aren't the prettiest, but I thought it'd be fun to share my journey of just endless scribbles trying to figure out how the hell to use this tricky little pen!

I'm not sure I have a steady enough hand to ever use this pen professionally, but it's been really fun to learn at least, and one day (even if it's the messiest thing in the world) I'd like to do a small comic like this. On the last slide I've included the tools I used for these learning sketches (though I only got the paper today, most of these were on bristol board), let me know if you have any questions or tips!

The thing I learned most from this is that pulling the pen towards you is really important, and also that the paper you use really really matters. Trying the deleter paper turned it from a scratchy knife into a smooth gliding nib, which confused me bc the deleter paper is SO much thinner! It's been a while since I've inked on paper at all, so starting again with a tool like this kind of makes me feel like a baby learning to write for the first time. Still, I think these sketches have some charm and I want to keep pushing to get better!

I'll be posting more stuff like this soon, since now that I'm (mostly) better I want to get into a daily drawing habit outside of just comics! Thanks for the support as always!
