Joy in the morning

Fell asleep so late last night after Kunogi's graduation show. Tried working and ended up just zombifying in front of my computer. I literally fell asleep with my head on the keyboard.

Woke up late and wasn't sure if I was going to make it all the way to Roppongi to film Nanomoral at Varit. I love Varit. The guy who always puts on shows there is so nice to me and we always chat. It's funny because anytime I see him, he already knows I'm going to ask him if he's "Genki," and as soon as he saw me, he beat me to the punch.

"I'm GENKI YO!" he said. Too funny.

By the time I was backstage, Avandoned was almost finished with their set. Me and Miku and Kajiwara talked about filming and other things, and then they were on and rocking, just like that. What can I say? It was much needed after last night. Kunogi's loss I'm still feeling, but the power of idol made me forget the universe and everything in it for nearly 40 minutes or so, as Nanomoral did Nanomoral. It was pure joy in the morning stuff. I mean, the very first song, during this really awesome middle part that comes crashing in after a quiet instrumental break, Miku went all the way to the back of the stage, and as the song returned in full force with all the instruments, she RAN to the front of the stage and jumped.

And Jumped.

And Jumped.

And Jumped!

I counted how many times she jumped in a row. IT WAS 32 TIMES!

You try doing that at noon on a Sunday! Or anytime! Just watching the fans try to keep up with her was epic. Miku's smile was epic. Kajiwara's intensity was epic. Their idol brand of SHIAWASE (that's the word for "Happy" in Japanese, you fucking Nihongo ignorant bastards that are reading this! LOL) is ALWAYS and without question, EPIC. I was singing along while filming and trying to keep everything in focus (though this time I think I did an okay job... getting there, though no I have lens flares that I can't seem to make go away. Any idea how to fix that, any of you camera guys?) and yeah... I forgot about the painful experience of watching a Necroma member, once again, leave Necroma.

I met a fan of Nanomoral who was from Niigata. He came down for the weekend, since Nanomoral had two shows in a row. That's dedication man. That's idol. He was very curious about my filming and the camera I was using, and so we talked for quite a bit. He ended up giving me some idol's cd that he likes, and we just bullshitted about other idols while he waited in the cheki line to meet Miku. I was filming a tiny bit of cheki stuff with Miku. It was so lovely to meet this fan and all the nice fans there today. Some fans didn't want me to film them taking cheki, and of course, I obliged them. The stuff I did get... well, you can see why Miku is a true idol, through and through.

Oh, right before Miku did cheki, she found me to give me a chocolate pie. She told me that there was no fish in it, so I should be fine eating it. I couldn't stop laughing. She always gives me candy and sweets! And she is, of course, adorable. She was in super adorable mode today! The fans got a lot of happy smiles from her. It was beautiful to watch.

Here's another thing about being part of the idol world that you'll find out really quick if you spend any decent amount of time in it: Situations change day to day, sometimes even on the same day, or even within hours. You could think a show is going to be amazing and it turns out to be just "meh" and then the show you think isn't going to have a great turnout or really crazy fans will be the show that blows you away. Or you could lose a member you care about one night and the next night, you are reminded why you love idols because one of your favorite idol groups just fucking crushes it so much onstage that you are full of idol bliss instead of sad depression. And then by the end of that same day, you might feel even more emotions because of things going on in the idol world. And so on. It's just the nature of this crazy city called Tokyo and the 10,000 idols or so living in it. You gotta roll with what you're given and not worry about anything else.

I am hoping that this upcoming week has a lot more better moments that bad moments. I will be doing tons of filming, starting with tomorrow, and a lot of my main footage will be completed for the documentary after this coming week. Or so I hope. I still need a lot more behind the scenes footage, which is proving to be somewhat difficult to acquire. But I'm getting there. I'll keep you all posted. Just wanted to share some Nanomoral goodness after the death blow dealt last night to all of us in the idol world who love Necroma. Miku was there today to remind me that everything is going to be juuuuuust fine!
