Who is Who: The Land of Seirei

Stubbornly isolationist, little is known about the Land of Spirits. They are called the country with a million gods, for their animistic faith is addressed to the very aspects of nature rather than towards the Ether Pantheon. Even if that deprives them from true divine protection, their land is strong, infused with the blessing of countless spirits.
Their magic, science and culture have evolved independently since the last Cataclysm, and are now incomprehensible for outsiders. They are also said to hold vast demonic powers, but that’s most likely Imperial propaganda, as they’ve tried in multiple occasions to claim part of their land, only to be pushed back in their very borders.
Their armors are lacquered, and they helmets usually include extravagant and monster-like face protectors. Their swords, called ‘katana’ are forged by mysterious methods, often said to involve religious rituals. While it’s true they are lethally effective, if this were true it would mean that creating new ‘katana’ is an exhausting and time-consuming process.
The Seijin never willingly leave their borders, and the little trade that exists is held under strict vigilance, in a process that involves complex, near ritualistic rules to guarantee the Outsiders are kept outside and the Seijin inside.
Smuggling is virtually nonexistent, and the unnatural efficiency of their border patrols is attributed to the highly advanced divinatory arts of their nation, pragmatically applied to the preservation of their economy and frontiers.
