Who is Who: The Atal'ai
Added 2016-08-11 21:48:56 +0000 UTC"Do you hear the waves and the sea wind?
They tell us a tale of pride and falls
There was a time when they
The Atal’ai, the atlantean,
Weren’t so different from you and me
But we shipped our boats in search for promises
And they settled in the coast farming knowledge
They found glory and power
We are still searching
They rose their buildings to the sky
And their minds towards the heavens
The Old Man Sea protected their city
The Father Sun smiled upon their path
But they grew conceited and prideful
Their hands greedy, their hearts waner
Wanting what wouldn’t be theirs
Defying ancient rules
Cataclysm, the landers call it
When seas boiled and forest burnt
And the atlantean perished
Their city sank in the sea
Even their memory wiped
But Old Man Sea frowned
Seeing their favorite children sinking
Punished, yes, for their sins
But his children wouldn’t be wiped
He opened his hand and blew
And the sinking people froze
Their skin turning scales
And their tongues slithering
Oh, how the mighty fell
For rejecting the sacred
In the deep are dwelling now
Too ashamed to reveal themselves
Now you know why we sail humbly
Without defying gods
Now you know why we avoid serpents
For our old brothers hate us"
-Old song of the Seafolk
