Highlander (1986) Full-Length Unedited Reaction: https://streamable.com/whvsa9 *updated*

Grab your own copy of Highlander (1986) THEATRICAL CUT (SORRY!) and get ready to hit play at the same time!

There will be a countdown, a visual cue at beginning, and a timer throughout.

**Hey guys, here is the updated Full-Length Unedited Highlander 1986 reaction. The audio is now raised ~ every 30 minutes, for ~15 seconds, to help keep in sync, throughout the movie.

It still only uploaded in SD 720p, even though the file's formats are 1080p. It just wanted to compress this one for some reason, when uploading to streamable. Most of the time it doesn't, and the couple times it has I will try to figure out why. :/ Apologies this full-length is in SD.

When I upgrade to 4K soon, it will be less of an issue/even better. Thanks for being here at the beginning!

Oh, gosh. We'll see about this one!! I'll never say never. Though, for now...there can be only one! If it ever happened, yes, definitely would do the live stream.

Angel Groves

I can maybe get behind that idea of an occasional poll down the road of "worst sequels ever" to watch as a laugh on a live stream. Somehow the idea that she were to watch it knowing going in that it might be one of the biggest disappointments ever might shield the original from the taint.

I'll be really honest ... I totally want you want watch Highlander 2! ... Just not yet Once the "only" Highlander is solidified for you, then it's something you should consider. The sequel is just ... it's like watching a train wreck. You cannot understand how they made it this bad. It's completely amazing and makes, literally, no sense If you ever did watch it, it has to be a live stream, not only will you need the emotional support, but the movie deserves to be laughed at mercilessly. It would become a highlight

Also, Kenton, until editing Highlander I had NO IDEA Clancy Brown was the voice of Mr. Crabs. That was my WTF moment as well. lol

I have seen the first one dozens of times, but I've only seen the second one twice I think. Now that you mention New York in it, I'm recalling more of it, though, and remembering how much I liked it! I had forgotten parts of it, until you said that. Oh wow, I need to re-watch it! Plus, I love Pheobe Cates.

Angel Groves

No, I think you answered it correctly. I probably worded it weird, tbh. I was asking if that song was one Queen made up for the movie as well, or if that was THE New York, New York song with them singing it. They only play a little bit of it in the movie, so even though I thought it sounded like the words/beat to the original, I also thought maybe they had a whole new song and just added those classic lyrics in their as well. So yes, you answered me the first time. Lol thank you!

Angel Groves

Sorry to flood comments but rereading yours I think I might have missed your exact question. New York New York is an older song. Probably the Frank Sinatra version is the most famous, but many artists have covered it.

Kenton Kruger

Oh, okay. That makes sense/sound like it. Well, I love hearing them sing it. I still haven't actually sat down and listened to the whole soundtrack yet. I'll probably listen to it tonight after watching "They Live". Which I'm about to do! 😇

Angel Groves

On that topic, since I can always find ways to tie in other recommendations to stuff, the song makes me think of Gremlins 2, which you should also watch 1&2 if you have not :)

Kenton Kruger

Been ages since I've sat and listened to the soundtrack, but I think they hooked the brief cover of New York, New York just onto the tail end of another song.

Kenton Kruger

WOW. okay. Thank you for telling me! I will NOT be watching the sequel. I was actually reading an article suggested to me about Highlander, and in it , it even said that the sequel was a mess. That's okay with me. I'm glad I know and will just treasure this one. The ONLY ONE! I LOVE Queen actually wrote songs for this...I was going to say "how did they get them to fit so perfectly?", but it's Queen. Lol I shouldn't be too surprised. Still, those songs are so good. Is the "New York" one also an original? Or were they doing a cover? I couldn't tell but loved it. Thank for the comment, Kenton. Also, apologies I didn't get on yesterday to reply like I planned! I did catch up on some sleep I needed more than I realized. Hope your day is going well!

Yes, the Queen music was specifically written for this movie. The album has a lot of quotes from the film woven into the songs. I always loved Clancy Brown after this movie. My biggest WTF was how many years it took me to realize he was the voice of Mr. Crabs on SpongeBob. This was a regular rental, usually once a month when we'd rent a VCR for the weekend during high school. Not that she has a big part, but the best movie the actress who played Heather was in is the 1993 movie In the Name of the Father. Fantastic film. As I wrote in an earlier post, as tempting as it is you really should just leave this movie as a one and done. It was written that way and they had to do so much retconning to try and make a sequel it really does tarnish this movie. I remember my friends and I were so excited for ages when they decided to make a sequel, just waiting for it to come out. My one friend who had this as her absolute favorite movie was so disappointed in the sequel she couldn't even watch this one again, she said it was "ruined" for her.
