Blood-war Chronicles: Races
Added 2022-04-10 03:52:56 +0000 UTCHumans: otherwise known as the children of Mikahel. It is said the white god sought to create the perfect being, and after multiple failed attempts he created the first humans who unlike his previous creations were inherently flawed. They were primitive, lacked longevity, and to his kin were nothing more than simple-minded creatures. But Mikahel knew this was necessary, for he gave his children the gift of evolution. To learn from their mistakes, to improve upon themselves with each passing generation, constantly growing and changing, until they attained supreme enlightenment. In the Current Age humans have gained dominion over the land of Felgrum and established a powerful united empire alongside the Werebeasts following the War of Liberation against the vampires.
Werebeasts: Human-like entities with animalistic features. Most notable traits are the more pronounced fur on the body, ears, tail, fangs and claws. According to legend the werebeasts were once Human. A tribe of Druids who worshipped the goddess Ishrapha. Some stories says the druids committed a grevious sin against the Moon Goddess who would then curse them with bestial forms while other stories claim she blessed the tribe. Even so, there are many among the race who fear losing control and reverting back to the primal beasts they descended from especially during the nights of the full moon when the goddess awakes from her slumbering dream.
For the last 300 years, the werebeasts and humans have maintained a peaceful era of coexistence following the Great War of Liberation against the Vampire Lords.
Vampire: Also known as the unholy spawn of Sarakai. These creatures of the night were created by the dark goddess, who in her neverending hatred of her brother created the vampires to feast on the life and flesh of his children and corrupt their souls with stagnation and undeath. At first glance they look no different than humans, only with paler skin, pronounced fangs, pointed ears and crimson red eyes. However, they do not age nor are they truly alive. Rather, they stagnate and and degrade unless they feast upon the blood of living creatures to sustain themselves. Nor can they die as easily. They can starve and degrade but this is not enough nor is any severe injury. For even without their heart their head still breathes and without their head does their heart continue to beat. Thus, one must sever the head and destroy the heart to truly be rid of a vampire.
There was, for a time, when the vampires had dominated the humans. Enslaving them and feasting on them like cattle until the day of uprising which eventually led to the end of the tyranny of the vampires and their lords. But even so, their kind still hides in shadow awaiting the day when their Lords will one day revive from their centuries long slumber and take vengeance upon mankind.
Faeries: A name given to a group of enigmatic and mysterious creatures who are believed to live in the ancient and boundless forests which stretch from the base of the Ashe Tree. According to legend, Ishrapha was tasked by Rigal to create guardians to ensure the safety of Mother Ashe from further harm. Thus her children came to be. Not much is known only that they are elusive, tricky and have a knack of leading those who wander into their dominion astray. They are not evil, but will vehemently protect the sacred forests with all their might.
Dragons: Ancient monstrous beings that were thought only exist in myth. According to legend they were created by the God Rigal as a means of restraining his kin before he enacted the Sealing Ritual. Not much else is know about them only that they were colossal in size, possessed supreme knowledge, could effect the very weather itself and flew among the stars on majestic wings Yet now only skeletons and remnants of these creatures remain scattered across the land. Perhaps they were killed by the gods during the war or maybe Rigal saw no further use for them after sealing his kin away? Though some tales claim there are few who still live. Spending their days in solitude in the furthest corners of the world.
