All In

After the first month of 2025—armed with the experience gained and following the latest fine-tuning of our scene system—we are taking the development of this game to the next level. To that end, we have made several decisions with one objective in mind: to finish the game.

Please review these decisions, and if anything seems off, feel free to ask.

Segmentation

With the game’s concept clear and the development stages largely set, we have decided to divide the game into self-contained gameplay segments (though not in terms of the story). The reasons are varied: primarily, this approach prevents an endless development cycle on a single project with no end in sight and allows us to take breaks between releases. Additionally, it helps keep file sizes more manageable—especially for mobile versions.

Monetization

We will be introducing a new subscription offering, and all subscriptions from the Bronze tier upward will have access to the extended version. The Iron Pass will be discontinued, though existing patrons will continue to have access with Bronze benefits until that tier no longer has any supporters.

The reasoning is simple: the versions are incompatible, and after each release we must review the code of the alternate version to fix bugs and address other issues—a process that has sometimes taken longer than desired. Ideally, we’d have a single version, but we’ve opted not to include unlockables in the public version, reserving this benefit exclusively for active subscribers. Moreover, the Iron Pass has not been very popular, so the decision is already made.

Timelines

Our deadlines will now be set within a range of 30 to 60 days rather than a fixed 30–45 days. The reasons are evident: despite planning ahead, there have been many instances where public expectations regarding content did not match the work delivered, which at times has affected our morale. As a result, we will concentrate on our work despite these challenges—and plan to deliver larger updates.

Burnout and Breaks

It goes without saying that the workload is extremely high and our quality remains uncompromised. With the right tools, I have improved both efficiency and quality (so by the end of the project, I plan to rework many older images). However, if at any point—for any reason—we decide to take a break, we will complete the corresponding update and pause payments until we decide to resume. I’m not just speaking for myself, but also for my collaborator; we both need to earn our living, so the possibility is not zero.

Additional Content

There is, of course, a significant amount of content that has never been published—complete with documented processes—but I understand that these elements cater to a niche audience, much like development diaries. Therefore, I will share some of that content in the appropriate tiers and will re-upload the exclusive art. I had previously assumed that this content was not well-received, which is why I stopped uploading it.

Endgame

The deadline to finish this phase—with all the girls, all the unlockables, and this portion of the story—is set for next year. The reason is simple: personally, if I don’t push the accelerator and operate at my full potential, I become demotivated. I need a realistic timeframe that aligns with my current capabilities.
As both players and developers in this genre, we understand both sides—we don’t want to be hated or seen as people who simply take money from our sponsors, and we certainly don’t aim for an endless development cycle.

I realize that being concise in presenting the story has both pros and cons, but conveying the essence is far better than writing just to hit a word count in a changelog like this extensive text. I hope you understand.

I reiterate our initial objective: to finish the gamewith our vision, our signature, and our art (and yes, CsCDev also makes music). We might face another setback, but that’s a risk we’re prepared to take.

January is over. I hope you have a great year.
