TL;DR: We’re screwed.

I was honestly hoping for some good news about this, but the trend isn’t looking good.

As you may know, a series of measures have heavily affected NSFW developers, starting with Steam and followed by Itch.io. This has happened before, which is why it’s hard to predict what will happen next.

Most likely, it will just get swept under the rug—unless it escalates into a higher level of censorship—because, like I said, this happened before.

Now, I understand my UK patrons have more annoying things to worry about right now, and I hope they can find a way to resolve that, because privacy is also a serious issue.

On our side, our game doesn’t violate any of the current policies of the platforms we actively publish on. But that doesn’t mean those policies won’t change and make us the target of unfair rules.

Both Valve and Itch have updated their policies, but in such a vague way that it leaves far too much room for interpretation—and that’s never a good thing. Especially when we’re planning to release soon.

And I won’t lie, both developers are pissed off, tired, and frustrated about this. A big chunk of the new content we’ve produced is going to need temporary review—at least the parts with more BD*M in them. Some finished scenes will be scrapped, and others will just get dialogue adjustments so that at least we can publish freely. It’s work that takes effort, but there’s a big difference between hiding something temporarily and having it vanish entirely. That’s why we’ve been working against the clock for the past week, and I haven’t been able to post illustrations or sneak peeks.

Some people might blame those old Australian hags, the No Mercy developer , Mastercard or Visa, Steam and Itch.io, or even governments for allowing such stupid policies. But at the end of the day, no one really knows what’s actually behind this—it just leaves you with the feeling that we’re screwed, hahaha.
