Unforeseen Consequences CYOA update CW32/2021

Hey cat pack,

short update from my side.

Currently I aim to write 5-10 pages a day and I mostly succeed in doing that.

The additions are almost in a state that make satisfied enough to release a new version.
In the meantime I am thinking about a new poll.

With every part I write it feels like I want to add more before I release, to the point that I almost want to write EVERYTHING before I put it out there.

So I am currently wondering if it is better to gravitate to something like short stories (sadly no art since I can't draw to safe my life) to cover the times between the game releases.
I will try to get an opinion on that soon I guess.

Some other thoughts:
Since the new addition also has some gay content I added options to choose your stance towards it at the start of the game (Video yes, no video but text or skip entirely, choice can be changed any time in the settings).
This pretty much concludes everything I wanted to implement as "tech" for now, so all that is left is writting (and picture/video editing of course).

Having said that, the writting takes an increased amount of effort right now, since the paths get a little more convoluted.
I tried different methods (using twine more for story tree purposes, making a timetable for movement of characters, drawing a map of the mansion).
Currently I can work with what I have (mostly the map helps) but it is not ideal... so most of it takes place in my head, which means I have to go back and forth between everything that happened in a different path and how it could logically play out in the new one.

The result so far is pretty good in my opinion, it just takes additional time.

Anyway, hope you all stay safe, new release will be soon.
Next post will probably be the poll, so hope to see some people attend there!

Comments

I think you are right, there is a chance to do it on the point I am at in the current sections, I need to seize that and not get lost again in the attempt to do everything at once. Thanks for the input.

It sounds like you should setup an ending within the foreseeable future and aim towards that so you can move towards projects that apply what you've learned in ways that are more streamlined. Your work doesn't need to always be on the same, singular game.
