This is my first medium format self-portrait shoot. I finally found a mechanical timer that I was able to set up perfectly to work with my camera.
And here I am in the studio with a camera, with instax, a tripod and a timer. And everything finally went great - I didn't screw anything up) I loaded the film correctly, chose the settings correctly, the timer worked correctly and it seemed to me that I was focusing perfectly.... it seemed. On the Polaroids it really seemed like I was getting the focus perfectly, but on the medium format shots - you can see that I was a bit off(. On my camera it turned out to be meters as I'm used to but feet, which constantly confused me. But I'm not upset - for a full-fledged first time - it's great.
It's interesting that when you don't see what comes out right away in the photos in the middle of the shoot, I catch myself thinking that I really want to repeat the shots on a digital camera - so that something remains from this day. This time I refrained. But now when I come back to self-portraits on film, my mind drives me crazy π
While writing this post - I realized that I still have some full-fledged self-portraits from the earlier times on medium format. My attempts on my friend's camera, which has a timer. If you remember, I shared a photo backstage from the studio (with a dried leaf - It was that "shooting" that it turned out that the film was not wound onto the reel and I was just shooting a gap.) Before that, I took a couple of shots when I was visiting my parents in the village on the cheapest film to check whether the camera works at all or not. So - I'll find them and share them anyway. Because that's where I really hit the focus.
