Just wanted to drop a quick update! The release is still 100% planned for January. I'll move heaven and earth to get it out this month. I'm spending about 12 hours a day at the computer, with breaks for brief stretches.
Late December and early January were spent processing the completed renders and fixing small details. For about a week now, I've been putting everything together. I'm inserting text lines with the finished renders, adjusting them to make everything look natural and smooth. Adding sounds, music, and effects. Also rendering small details I missed during the main rendering phase. You know, all those little things that take tons of time and energy.
So far, I've completed 3300 lines of code/text (roughly 60-65% of the episode). Though I've only added music partially, just for the most important moments. I'll work on that more thoroughly once the whole episode is playable.
Let's see... what else? I didn't manage to implement the phone system, so I'll work on that after Episode 2 is released. Probably won't add mini-games yet either, since they're not necessary for the plot right now. Basically, I've been completely immersed in the story and visuals of the second episode, which meant I had to put aside some additional (but no less important) features like interface improvements, etc. It's a shame, but that just means I'll be catching up on those later.

Honestly, I won't feel offended if the game is released a week or 2 later, so don't kill yourself over this deadline. lol I'd rather have a good polished outcome and a comfortable Dev than a rushed product and an exhausted Dev. But that's just my opinion. :)
