I agree - the agenda seems to be 'watch my favourite show' like that annoying Colin Hunt guy at work who doesn't care about your own taste or comedy shows you like. My favourite comedies are probably The Larry Sanders Show and Porridge, but I would always vote for Spaced and What We do in the Shadows first because they seem more attuned to Josh's taste. I don't know that we will ever see see Josh laugh as much as he did for that first episode of An Idiot Abroad, but we can try!

Some of the shows that Josh will love based on the stuff he's enjoyed before aren't even getting a look in, it's kinda sad tbh.. If those people are just voting for shows they themselves like and wanna watch, I'll give them a site where they can stream every single show here for free.. I just feel like with stuff like Gavin and Stacey in particular Josh won't really get it with the whole Welsh English thing being the main caveat.. And before you say I'm pushing my own agenda, I hate CFWM.. but I know Josh will love it so I voted for it every time, and I can't wait to watch it with him purely for the fact that I love seeing Josh have a great time watching his style of comedy. I'm a big fan of Gavin and Stacey AND The Royale family however I have voted for neither as they don't really fit with what Josh has leaned towards. We should be voting for shows Josh would enjoy as that's why we pay to watch him.. somewhere down the line I feel that's been lost.

I'd love to see Fresh Meat make it through, I think it's on the longer shows list though. It'll only get a chance when it comes to replacing the OFAH, Peep Show or Red Dwarf slots. Two of those aren't far off ending but I still think it might be a while before we see Fresh Meat, I think a lot of people were after One Foot In The Grave.

Only Gervais' shows were able to keep Gavin and Fly off the top in the last few polls, but now it's definitely going to be one of them on Thursday and the other one will replace Derek on Monday. After that, the people who voted for them will move to some other mainstream show on the list.

League of Gentlemen is absolutely not a sketch show; there's clear plots that develop through each series. There are a few characters whose scenes stand alone but many of them rely on the previous scenes to make sense of what's happening. In a sketch show they would have to work entirely on their own.

I kind of hope it's Come Fly with Me just to get it out the way lol. It comes close in every poll and it's only short, let's just have that done with! I'd rather 6 episodes of that then move onto something else than 19 episodes of Gavin and Stacey to be honest :/ and judging by Josh's reaction to the come fly with me clips he watched on you tube he might actually enjoy it. My choices are Porridge, League of Gentlemen and The Young Ones though, I'd like to see what Josh makes of The Young Ones.

I kind of agree. I get more value than you right now since I like Red Dwarf, the two Gervais shows and Peep show (and some Only Fools) but in 4-5 weeks there will only be Red Dwarf left. If those shows are replaced with crap like Come Fly with me and Gavin and Stacey I might have to take a break on subscription for a bit. Can't please all of the people all of the time and obviously democratic choice should be the best but that sort of stuff is not for me. I also agree with you on the movie choices this time round, not good at all.

I've said before there should be more nights dedicated to niche/cult shows that have fewer fans and therefore less voters. The mainstream popular shows obviously have more voters and win all the time. And before anyone berates me or whining, we are all paying for this, it's $4/mo compared to $5.99 for basic Netflix, so not much difference. The only thing I watch is Red Dwarf now. The last movie poll, literally the LAST 4 movies on my list were voted in.

The problem with Darkplace is, it's a very little known secret, those in the know agree it's amazing - even Americans that have found it later think it's fantastic. The DVD release in the UK alone took almost 5 years. If you prefer Come Dine with me or Gavin and Stacy fine, everyone is entitled to their opinion. mine is that 5 minutes of Darkplace has more creativity that both shows put together.

Hey Josh, you should separate between the old classic comedies I.e. OFAH, and the newer comedies I.e. Inbetweeners. Some Mothers Do Av Em - classic vintage British comedy. In my opinion; it sits alongside OFAH, Steptoe & Son, Rising Damp, On The Buses, Porridge etc . IMO, the first two seasons of Some Mothers Do Av Em were the best.
