CGI - before and after
Added 2018-04-28 07:00:00 +0000 UTCI drew the layout of the image, then my S.O. (alias A Redgren Grumbolt) created the CGI rocks as you see in the center image up there.
After that, I use median filter in photoshop to make it more cartoony looking, then I painted it over in clipstudiopaint.
At the end, I put Jason Brubaker's gouache texture on top of it to quickly break up the image with painterly look. I learned this technique from his youtube channel.
