You're right, Saul 👍
This one is definitely worth a re-watch.
Did you notice the female power-play throughout?

Many of the actors in the show have gone on to tour as a musical act, in character as their personas from Kurupt FM.

Just rewatched this; it's one of the best episodes of any sitcom I've see in the last few years(I know it came out a while ago).
Yes, re. Daryl's post, it's reminiscent of the finale of The Office - things start to go uncharacteristically well for these people and you come away gently positive. I think the reason why happy endings like this and The Office work is because they don't overplay their hands. The little gains they make aren't overwhelming, Hollywood victories, they're just small personal victories, steps forward in directions that are specific to the flaws in the characters themselves rather than unrealistic US-style 'save the girl from falling at the last second and blow up the bad guy' happy endings. Eg. Brent finally makes people laugh a little because he's feeling optimistic, he meets someone who doesn't find his jokes unfunny and who actually wants to date him, he finally tells Finchy to go fuck himself; Grindah recognises what the people around him do for him, and at least some of that gain in empathy is still there the next morning, Beats has a son who actually treats him as something more than a useless annoyance, they both kill it in a small but memorable club night. These are not big, Hollywood victories, but they are the kind of victories that feel real when we see them.

There's something more than a tiny bit The Office about this, at the end of the series. A lot of cringe, with people saying and doing a lot of stupid and terrible things throughout the series. Buckets of oblivious character moments. Oh and it's in the fake documentary style. Couple that with some half touching moments with things not going 'too badly' for most of the characters, but maintaining that realism approach and not going over board with massive character developments. Hey man if it ain't broke, then definitely copy it. Worked like a treat, as this show definitely won me over the more I've watched it. I ain't begrudgingly routing for Grindah though. Steven is the the legend of this series for me. Hopefully he sorts himself out and cleans his life up a bit, and gets away from these pricks. 🤣

Great story about the party at the beginning! Enjoyed that.
God Chabuddy is such a great character. You should listen to the Kurrupt FM podcast on Audible. Chabbuds does sponsorship ads for his warious enterprises in it and they're piss funny. Highly recommended.
God, this episode brings back a memory of lying on the floor outside a club in Ashington, pissed out my head having just taken a pill. I was 18. Anyway, 10 minutes later I was raving away, having a mint time. Next morning I threw up my stomach lining and had an awful, awful day.

It's really good bro. Allan and Hugo (Grindah and Beats) stay in PJDN character and do some of the MCing so the music is good AND it's funny!

Great episode, the acting of the pair of them like they were on pills was top-drawer! Really good ending, and Beats and Grindah actually sound as good as professional garage MC's to be fair even though it's a parody.
