Commission: icy dragon
Added 2021-02-02 03:09:29 +0000 UTCA friend asked me to dragonify a pony OC. I decided to make it special and make her a cross between a frost dragon and a fairy dragon. Fairy dragons are exceedingly rare.
In my MLP universe there are hundreds of different breeds of dragons, each belonging to a subtype which dictates their distinguishing ability. I usually draw the fire-breathing breeds, since those are the most numerous in the Dragonlands and its surrounding areas — and the Western hemisphere, period. Fire-breathing dragons are not actually the most common dragons in the world, though. They are outnumbered by waterbending Long dragons.
Different subtypes can crossbreed, resulting in the offspring inheriting physical attributes from both of their parents. If they are lucky, they inherit one or more abilities from both of their parents or end up with a new one. If they are unlucky, they don't inherit any abilities at all.
Venomous dragons and acid spitting dragons are the most likely to crossbreed, often with each other. Mixed dragons can only hand down one ability, even if they inherited two. (so no crossbreeding until you get a dragon avatar, it doesn't work that way)
