Hello everyone! I hope your 3d printing sessions are going well and safe (wear gloves people!).

When the dragonborn were first introduced in the Forgotten Realms setting I have to admit I was not very sold on the idea. It was confusing to have both dragonborn and half-dragons in the same setting and was very suspicious that the move was made solely for marketing purposes to include a cool-dragon race in the basic book.  However, when I delved deeper into the lore of the dragonborn (shoutout to MrRhexx 's youtube channel) I made an 180 and immediately incorporated them in my campaign - if only as an ambience.

Next month's release is going to be my attempt at fleshing out the dragonborn of Tymanther through what I believe are the most iconic characters one would encounter in the dragonborn capital of Djerad Thymar. 

The city of Djerad Thymar is essentially a giant hollow pyramid with a 300 feet long ramp leading to the sole entrance. The djerads (fortress in the dragoborn Abeir origins tongue) are designed this way to make them impervious to dragon attacks. Back in their homeworld of Abeir, the dragonborn were enslaved and oppressed by the dragons and so all the aspects of dragonborn society revolve around their hatred and enmity towards dragons.

The Lance Defenders are the professional warrior army of the djerad. Although most of the soldiers fight on foot clad in extravagantly ornate plate armor, the giant bat riders are the ones that steal the show. These elite warriors ride a breed of giant bats that are capable of carrying a fully geared adult dragonborn on their backs. When not on duty, the giant bats roost on the top of the pyramid where the lance defender barracks are located. The enclosed space of the pyramid is the perrfect environment for the bats and their precious guano fertilizes the gardens directly beneath the bat roost.

The Adjudicators are the guards and police of the djerad. They tireleslly patrol the market square where hundreds of non-dragonborn visitors and merchants arrive daily. They are clad in half-plate armor lined with gold trim. While on patrol, they don a bright blue long cape, making themselves stand out in the crowd.

Visitors of high esteem are expected to be greeted by none other than the speaker of the djerad, essentially the spokesperson of the entire djerad and representative of the vanquisher, the supreme leader of the dragonborn.

The release is also going to include dragonborn civilians.

Lastly, I'd like to remind everyone that the community designed miniature idea pitching is still running on the discord channel "community-designed-minis". I am going to give it another 24 hours until I post the poll with all the ideas pitched so far.
