Trader resources and a point about scales

You can find all our graphics, including the individual traced png renders of each mini, in this google drive link.

Here are some general information that might be also relevant to all of our patrons.

Our miniature range is designed at the 32 mm scale which has become the industry standard in the past few years. That being said, the use of milimeters is a suboptimal and often erroneous way to mark a scale. The proper way is a ratio which in this case would be a  1/48 scale.

The mm scale is supposed to measure an average human's height in that scale but while some measure from feet to top of the head, others measure from feet to eye level. Furthermore, body proportions are always exaggerated in smaller scales which is often described as "heroic" scale. However, no real guideline exists on how much proportions should be exaggerated which further complicates things. The scale issue in miniatures is a mess really.

Our miniatures are designed with DnD 5e in mind, so the diameter of the base becomes the most important guideline. Medium sized and smaller creatures are expected to fit on a 25mm (or approximately 1 inch) base so that they will fit nicely on the average printed grid. Large creatures will fit on 50mm bases, taking a footprint of 10 by 10 feet on a grid. Huge creatures will fit on 75mm bases (15 by 15 feet) and gargantuan creatures on 100mm bases (20 by 20 feet). Anything larger than that (anyone said Xixecal?) will probably not need a base.

Hope that helps! If there is anything you guys need to make your miniature printing experience easier just let us know and we'll do our best to make it happen!

Agreed that scale is a headache, the tread seems to be going larger, 34mm being used by some, the advice is to scale them down to what you'd prefer, which is fine unless they are pre- supported, at some point the smaller supports won't do their job. The only scale that seems to not be questioned is the floor tile and distance in general, five-foot is 25mmx25mm or 1 inch (25.4 x 25.4mm) close enough to not split hairs over.  So, 1 foot in game scale is 5.08mm. A six-foot-tall character would therefore be 31.48mm tall, call it 32mm if you allow for boot heels and a hair-do. I have one human male miniature standing perfectly erect, made up at Heroforge, he is 32mm from his boot heel to the top of his bald head, I class him as 6ft tall, I load this stl on the plate next to any new miniatures, allowing for their stance and headgear, I then scale these down to the appropriate sizes for their race along with my preferences. Once you have a percentage reduction/ increase that you're happy with, then you just apply it to all the miniatures of the same type. The majority of my collection is metal 28-32mm and this method keeps the newer 32mm resin pieces close enough in scale for them all to share the same space without looking wrong and they are absolutely in scale with their dungeon environment. The ATR goblins I scaled back to 90%, chest-high against my human, they held up perfectly, supports and all, and they look fantastic.

Thanks for the feedback! I am going to look into those issues asap.

I've printed the Welcome Box contents, and the sculpts are really nice. Used the presupported versions, there was a slight pancaking to the worg pup's tail. I feel that the scale however is a bit out, in comparison to other 32mm models I have. The donkey I feel is about 10-15% too big, and the other models are about 10% too small. Not meant as a criticism, I will rescale mine to my tastes, but constructive criticism.

P.S. Thanks for the heads up Michael ;)
