The reason that future Trunks was killed easy by future First form cell was because In that timeline he did go back but he found a way to deactivate the androids and didn’t receive the training in the hyperbolic time chamber, so at that point first form cell was stronger then that future timeline Trunks.

2020-03-21 03:59:28 +0000 UTCI’m personally fine with saying “I remember this” and “the original did it this way”, the concern is that half the time you guys do it is in the middle of the episode during dialogue. The Abridged is very quick some times, and it makes it easier to miss jokes if you guys go off on a whole conversation.

At this point if Vegeta didnt care about earth and aimed the beam further down to hit all of cell and vaporize him with no cells to regen from (its why trunks and Krillen were worried Vegeta would blow up the planet with the aim of the shot) or if cell was in the air it would work but he curved it. The only reason Cell regened from his bomb was it was his own move made in him that actually didnt have enough force to kill his core. We see later of course beam vaporization would kill him. Most big beams are aimed up or horizontal on earth and multiple times you get warnings about firing beams down.
