[Premium Access] Black Sails - 4x8 XXXVI - Group Reaction

For me this show started ok and then with the seasons passing and the Teach intro i started to love it, the character development. For me the lead up to the end is great and this show have given me alot of minor/kinda major character i've love, like Rackham, Hands, Teach, Vayne, Anne, Billy and Joji (aka the asian pirate that's kinda badass everytime) I mean i like Flint, Silver and even Woods from time to time. And believe me they make the show great and so on but they are not the main reason i've watched it and loved the show. And btw know it's close to the end reaction and i've enjoyed it alot. For me this is an top three shows you reacted to. 1 GOT, 2 Vikings, 3 Black Sails

It's interesting to compare those who still have the most important person to them and those who've already lost that person. Flint lost Thomas, Teach lost Vane and both of them are (were in Teach's case) all in, determined to fight to the death. Same applies to Rogers who's now lost Eleanor (his own damn fault tho). On the flip side, Jack, Max and Silver still have their person and are putting them before the war. Love is definitely the theme of the season. Who's lost it and who still has the chance to protect it.

9 and 10 are the best episodes of the entire show, which is one of my all time favorites

I literally cant wait for next week. I know it is impossible but a double drop would be insane. Anyways you should set time to watch back to back cause you guys will need to its insane. Next 2 episodes are my favorite cant wait. I love how hype you can see Micky is know how this sets up treasure island.

i love all the comments on here explaining max's motivations for her decision and i agree with all of them. at it's core, this bloody pirate show is about love. losing it, holding on to it, fighting for it, killing for it. all of it. it's about love. and it's not really a love triangle and hasn't been since anne told jack that she couldn't be his wife but that she would be his partner until they were put into the ground. she loves them differently. and i love how excited micky gets about the treasure island tie-ins. i haven't read the book but since finishing the show i've read up about it and the details they put into this show from it and it's truly just a masterpiece. the galaxy brains on these creators and writers are really just mind-blowing. i just saw a new one recently about billy bones that made me go BROOOOOOOO outloud bc it's so good lmao. i'll make sure to share it when you finish it all.

I'm sure others have already talked about how Max's choice makes sense for her character (and it's not really a love triangle with Anne/Jack/Max anymore; the kind of love Anne has for Jack and Max is different). In the beginning, Max begged Elenor to leave Nassau with her, to choose their love over everything Elenor had been trying to build there. This season, Elenor all but told Max that she wishes she'd chosen differently, and this time she did choose love. Silver is doing the same thing. He tells Flint not to make him choose between a war and a wife, and Max (and Jack) choose Anne in a similar fashion. Love and the choices made for it is kind of a running theme in this show and this season in particular.

I agree with the comment above about Max. It’s way more than just a love triangle, it’s about Max choosing love over her ambitions, where previously she sacrificed everything for it. It’s a major theme of the series, and a pivotal moment in her character arc. I’m surprised you guys were so excited for her to get married off lol. Yes it gets her what she wanted, but not on her own terms. Women shouldn’t be just married off, it’s contrary to the independence Max has been working for. At the end, she chose her heart and become someone more than just a person who would sacrifice everything for her ambition. That is what Eleanor taught her in the end, according to her.

I love the scene with Flint wanting to put Silver/Madi on the proverbial pirate throne. It shows he isn't in it for personal power, he just wants to be free of England. Max/Anne/Jack don't have to be a triangle, not when a throuple is an option. In the past Max has chosen ambition over love, this time she chooses love. It's good closure for her. Plus I don't know I trust that this fake husband of hers would be ok with remaining fake. Most men in this time wanted an heir. It was expected of them even. How would Max navigate that? Especially when Grandma Guthrie dies of old age and she no longer has her as a buffer with him and his family, My LOST/Black Sails cross-over idea is that Skeleton Island and the LOST island are the same place. 😂 Consider, an island on no charted map, nearly impossible to find and with voices coming from the jungle. Yep, it's the same place. The next 2 episodes are 🔥🔥🔥

Flint in this case is responding to Silver's betrayal. Silver took the cache from the ground behind everyone's back, directly undermining the cause. But more specifically, he partook in the very kind of deception that Flint did in response. That is, he agreed with Flint publicly, but was quietly plotting behind his back. Flint here is just responding to what Silver did and can't fully be blamed for ensuring the safety and progression of the war that they are in fact on the cusp of winning.

Mickys hype for this show is everything. He's been with us from the beginning and trusted when we hyped it up and its paying off for everyone of course but i feel like its even more satisfying for him. Reading Treasure Island definitely helped too! 😂🔥
