Bakugo said that for the first time when he was 15 just before joining UA. Since then he’s said it several times while attending UA. That kind of attitude is different to Deku and Ida who both say that they want be just like their predecessors and honour them. The reporter could see the Bakugo didn’t have that kind of relationship with All Might. He did rule him out because of his attitude, but specifically his attitude towards All Might, not his angry personality

A lot of manga readers were disappointed in this arc as well. It's not just the anime-only people who are only a few episodes in. The season is fragmented and disjointed, the pacing is bad, and it takes the focus off many of the students that people read/watch MHA for.

The reasoning as to why Kaachan couldn't be the successor is complete garbage. "Oh- when he was 12 he said he'd someday surpass All Might so he can't be chosen." That's dumb! And how would you even know that??? Why couldn't the reasoning be the VERY OBVIOUS reason? Y'know- that Kaachan is a dick-head?

I agree, but momo's quirk has been explained and expanded upon compared to the whole-body lense quirk.

They always do these fillers at the start of each season. They could have the whole reporter moment and a two minute recap before the halfway point. Knock the intro to the end of the episode and you could have the whole second half of the episode for non filler stuff

season 1 is 13 episodes, every other season has 25 (season 4 included) + weekly manga chapters

It may be the pacing. Also the director (I think) changed, so I guess it has a different feel to it. Do you feel like it’s too plain in a way? Because that’s the feeling I got. But it’s only about the anime really, I’ve read the manga and actually adore this arc’s storyline, so it’s definitely not because of a bad story for me.
