I go back and fourth on the dub/sub issue. I see the argument for subs but just like Goku, for me I hate Naruto's voice in the sub. There's also the technical issue of the subs being hard to see for some people in a condensed screen that they use.

By the way, Jiraiya didn't teach him how to walk on water. You apply chakra to your feet to walk on water the same way you walk on trees, and he learned it from Kakashi. However, Orochimaru had messed up his chakra mixture levels while in the Forest of Death, which prevented Naruto from using chakra to walk on surfaces. All Jiraiya did was remove Orochimaru's block, after which Naruto immediately was able to walk on the water. No teaching from Jiraiya necessary.

It really is a good thing Sarutobi took Orochimaru's hands away. Orochimaru can bring people back from the dead like he did with the First & Second Hokage, so it wouldn't matter much that the Sound Five are dead if he could reanimate them. Yeah, they may be weaker but they'd still be a threat. Good on you Sarutobes.

Why does everyone keep saying Anko wasn't on Orochimaru's side? She clearly called him sensei and he said she was his old student, who he abandoned. She didn't resist him. It's not an "excuse" to acknowledge basic facts of the series, a lot of other people being lured in by Orochimaru doesn't mean Sasuke can't be judged for making the same bad decision 🤦🏽‍♀️

Well the curse is basically influencing him. While it doesn't mind control him without it Sasuke wouldn't have the drive for the power Orochimaru could give him. While I believe it would be inevitable for him to leave the village, but a case could be made that without the curse mark Sasuke would not leave the village.

You are a fucking idiot if you think character development has anything to do with the movies and with filler episodes. They don't need to fall in love with anything before they move on. They don't need to watch every single movie because the movies are simply filler too. I never fell in love with any character development before the time skip because their wasn't much character development at all before shippuden. It was mainly just story. The character barely grew at all.

You guys should stop at episode 135. That’s the last canon episode. The filler websites list other episodes as canon but they are 95% filler with only a few canon scenes which are then shown again in Shippuden. Episode 135 is the last episode of this arc and it’s the perfect stopping point of the original series.

Sasuke's motive since the beggining of the show has been extremely fucking obvious. There is no "secret juice", no mind control, no manipulation. Sasuke is doing what he needs to do to beat his genius brother.
