There is a reason the show doesnt flat out say "hey, Blackbeard!". The legend and fear of a pirate is something that is earned, not something is told to you in a comment section of Patreon. When they see him fight, they will get it. They will get why he holds a command and presence. Thats what is important.

Nahid just questioned if it was Blackbeard when he first appeared on screen, since the show never really confirmed that and in the discussion they only referred to him as Teach, we don't really know if at the point of this video they really knew for that it's Blackbeard... They've probably read a comment or wiki'ed him by now anyway.

Alot of these pirates had nicknames that the show only uses when establishing a legend or building on one. I think it's done intentionally to highlight the difference between people vs. pirate lore.

There are alot of posers in Nassau now because of the gold but Teach knows they'd run at the first sight of England (Flint said the same last week about men just wanting to ride the coat tails of badass pirates). Not sure if it's been mentioned but Woodes Rogers is also a real person from history, He was a privateer before making a deal that would have him named Governor if he could oust the pirates from Nassau.
