Who would let their spouse die? In reality none of us would let our spouse die on the pure basis that it could change the timeline. Its not like FS dying = no destruction, it just means its not the same timeline. There are lot of things that happened that can change, to alternate the timeline, letting your spouse die should be the last resort. Also everything is very in character for these characters when you really think of it. FS saving each other, Daisy being overly cautious and trying to prevent her actions from causing death, YoYo fighting for others. Etc. This arc was def meant to be divisive. Its meant to make the audience question what would they do (really do, not just what we feel we SHOULD do but WOULD do) if the world was ending, and for the ones we love. Would the greater good really be what you choose over those closest to you, if nothing at all was certain. There is no right answer. There is just grey.

Also if someone dies it does mean that they 'broke the time loop' but it doesn't necessarily mean that they'll keep the world from exploding, and it might screw things up worse (ex: Fitz/Simmons dies so no Deke so the team can't get back to the present from the future).

FitzSimmons are not inconsistent at all. They realized that one of the reason they make it to the future is that they won't let each other die. Their train of thought comes from their personal experience... Remember the episode with Robins father? All the characters act the way they do because of what they experienced until now. The writing is solid.

More importantly, stopping the loop doesn't mean you've stopped the Earth from being destroyed in the exact same way, it just confirms that it's POSSIBLE to stop the Earth from being destroyed... The new timeline could still be one where the Earth breaks and the only difference is that Fitzsimmons, their descendants and their influence are wiped out.

I know these choices were/are divisive but I am still a big fan of them. They were written to make sense from the characters' point of view, and that's what's important. I may not agree with Daisy or Yoyo or whoever, but I can see them making these choices in universe, and that makes good TV imo.

Daisy’s emotions drives her decisions. That has saved lives plenty of times during the show and is her defining trait. When she’s a soldier that is fine because sometimes you need that perspective and usually you are only risking yourself. My only issue is when she was in charge and still thinks that way of thinking will work. Robin and Polly could have been serious hurt this episode and it’s all Daisy’s doing by bringing them there. Again she got lucky that it didn’t happen. Love daisy but in this episode she was projecting her own experience onto ruby. That’s why she mentioned her being a shield agent. She just saw herself. Yoyo killing her sort of hurt her on a personal level.

I said it when this episode first came out and i will say it again Ruby needed to be put down Daisy didnt have shit under control and the way she came at YoYo was bs and people need to stop acting like Ruby is all of a sudden a 10yr old that didnt know what she was doing up until she went crazy. Also why is Ruby the exception and everyone is like awww she was raised bad what about all the other Hydra agents Shield has put down over the years didnt hear a word about them and YoYo is a better person than me i would of cut her arms off just to be petty lol.

Exactly. When you don’t know what choices lead to the end it’s almost impossible to correct your mistakes. Yoyo saw a dangerous killer with great powers losing control so she did what she thought would prevent it. She wasn’t going off of concrete fact just what she saw. But that doesn’t mean ruby wouldn’t have killed everyone. So it’s morally grey. Nobody can say concretely what her next move would have been (though based on what we’ve seen it leans more towards losing control.)

I think the main problem is all the assumptions that the characters are making about what will and won't save the world. Yo-Yo acted on impulse and belief, not on concrete fact. Ruby was a ruthless killer, but she was also born into Hydra, and raised by a psychopath. She was essentially a child, and a victim. I totally understand other characters disagreeing with Yo-Yo's choice to kill her, as it definitely falls in the darker end of morally grey. That being said, our main cast has basically no idea what gravitonium is fully capable of doing when out of control, so maybe there really was no choice. Great episode :)

Like Mickey said Fitzsimmons literally had that conversation about if they died they stopped the loop but they aren't going to do that cause they aren't going to let each other die. It may be selfish but I think most people would feel that way when it comes to their spouse.

Now FitzSimmons couldn’t choose to let each other die, not themselves. People have to look at them as individuals. Neither one would let the other die by refusing to fix it because that’s what the threat was. Would you ever make the choice that would kill your spouse (not yourself) willingly. Fitz didn’t want Simmons to drink the poison....... They both knew if they died they break the loop but answer this. Does breaking the loop automatically mean the earth wouldn’t crack? No. It just means you are now not in a fixed timeline so stopping it is possible. Killing yourselves should be the last resort. (Even then the earth could still blow up you would just be ending the loop.) Fitz tried to buy some time and the earth hasn’t cracked yet so you risk it. Now with ruby yo-yo situation of course yoyo (who just suffer severe pain because of ruby.) Feels hate for her but she also saw that ruby wasn’t calming down. Daisy saw herself in ruby but gravitonum isn’t inhuman powers. We saw what was happening to kreel with just alittle. And we saw how her mother couldn’t control her. There’s no doubt in my mind that she would have lost it. Ruby could kill everyone in that room potentially so it’s a hard choice but not necessary a wrong one. Some people argue that it didn’t involve coulson so she shouldn’t think that but that’s ridiculous. A potential threat is right in front of you and you are going to ignore it. That’s not smart at all. What if you already miss the point your future self was talking about and this is your only other chance. There was plenty of time they could have let coulson die this season.
